Brittany Galvin Discusses Her Breakup with Tyler Norris and What Fans Didn’t See
Sharing her side of the story.
Bachelor Nation fans saw Brittany Galvin find love and leave the beach with Tyler Norris on Season 8 of “Bachelor in Paradise” this summer.
After leaving the show as a couple, Brittany and Tyler ended up splitting up and going their separate ways.
The two saw each other again for the first time post-breakup at the “Paradise” reunion and the tension was more palpable than Brittany expected.
Now she’s stopping by the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast, where she opened up about what fans didn’t get to see in her relationship and breakup with Tyler.
Co-hosts Becca Kufrin and Thomas Jacobs asked Brittany how she’s been since the reunion aired last week and she got candid with her answer.

The Bachelor Nation star said, “I have been okay throughout the season. It was nice to get love from everyone. But when a lot of people only watch the reunion and see the recap, it was a little bit shocking to see all the backlash that came from it. Watching it back, what was a 20-minute conversation, only 60 seconds gets shown. It was a little bit hard.”
She went on and explained why watching the reunion back was so difficult.
“The reunion was really hard to watch back. I got a bunch of backlash from it and I genuinely didn’t feel like I was coming across cold-hearted when we were there. It was purely out of frustration because I did feel like we ended on mutual terms, but it came out of nowhere,” Brittany shared.
She continued, saying, “They didn’t show the part where we were going back and forth, it just showed me seeming very blunt and I don’t want to say mean, but didn’t seem like I had a lot of respect for Tyler when he was hurting. So watching that back, I wished we had that conversation before it got to that point. That was the first time we really aired anything out since breaking up.”
And Brittany addressed her breaking up with Tyler over FaceTime, adding, “A lot of people sent me hate for breaking up with him over FaceTime, but when you only dated someone for a month and a half and you live long distance, I don’t really know the way you’re supposed to go about it.”
Becca and Thomas agreed that if you don’t live in the same place as someone, sometimes FaceTime is your best option.

And while some people accused Brittany of not putting enough work into their relationship, she said the two spent a lot of time together post-show that fans didn’t see.
She shared, “Immediately after filming, I went to Jersey for the Fourth of July and we spent the entire week together. And then right after, he said he hadn’t been to a Cubs game, so I took him to a Cubs game. We did all of that in Chicago before his season really started airing. I felt like everything happened so fast.”
But things were moving so quickly that she felt like she needed a bit of space. Brittany said, “After we met each other’s families and friends, I had some serious conversations with him about where we saw ourselves in the next few years. We had to figure out if we’d make the jump and move to the same city or try to keep doing long distance. After we had a few conversations, I expressed to him that I needed a break, but that never really happened.”
Eventually, Brittany realized that their values and goals weren’t totally aligned and she asked for that space because she felt like she needed time to figure out if he was her person.
And things might not have worked out between Brittany and Tyler, but she still has her eye on someone else from Bachelor Nation. Find out who it is in the full episode of “Bachelor Happy Hour” below!
