Danielle Maltby Makes Michael Allio Cry Talking About Watching Him Parent His Son
Showing the love.
Bachelor Nation fans saw Michael Allio and Danielle Maltby find love and leave the beach together on Season 8 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
Now as Danielle prepares to move to Ohio to be closer to Michael and his son James, the two stopped by the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast, where they opened up about their relationship.
Danielle discussed falling in love with Michael and what made her fall even more in love with him after “Paradise” ended.
The Bachelor Nation star said, “The thing that I was honestly most shocked by was Michael as a father. I was shocked in a very good way. I’ve seen other men in my life and they are incredible fathers, don’t get me wrong. My dad is an incredible dad. But actually watching Michael parent made me fall so much more in love with him. It’s incredible to see.”

She went on, saying, “Kids can struggle and they get stressed or scared and Michael is the most calming, validating force. He’s really had to have both motherly qualities, if you want to call it that, and fatherly qualities. He’s had to embody both parts in this. It turns me on. You’re a great dad!”
Danielle’s sweet words brought Michael to tears, but after wiping a tear away, he shared how much what she said meant to him.
Michael said, “That’s the greatest compliment I could ever get. I remember when Laura passed away, I looked at my son who was 2 years old and I said, ‘Cancer took so much from us already, I’m not going to let it take any more.’ I have so many flaws and come up short literally every single day, it’s just the effort and intention I try to parent with.”

He continued on, saying, “I don’t want James to ever use this tragedy as an excuse for why he can’t reach his potential. It’s a major disruption, but the way that it’s executed is being crazy patient and you have to be able to explain things. There’s nothing I could during the day that is more important than him. And Danielle is really great too. She’s great at reading him books. She’s amazing!”
Michael didn’t stop there, though — he continued showing his love for Danielle.
He said, “One of the best ways to describe Danielle is the type of person that all of her friends call when they need help. She’s the one that shows up. That’s what you’re looking for in a partner all the time, someone who shows up when it matters.”
How sweet! We couldn’t love Michael and Danielle more.
