EXCLUSIVE: Danielle Maltby & Michael Allio Share Plans for Their First Holiday Season as a Couple!
Celebrate the holidays with Bachelor Nation!
Danielle Maltby and Michael Allio found love on Season 8 of “Bachelor in Paradise” this past summer.
And since their time on the show, the two have been spending time together as Danielle prepares to move to Ohio to be closer to Michael and his son James.
Amid their first holiday season together, Danielle is sitting down with BachelorNation.com for an exclusive interview about their holiday plans.
Check out Danielle’s entire interview — including what lesson they’ve learned in their first few months as a couple — below!
Bachelor Nation: Happy holidays, Danielle! What are your plans as a couple for this holiday season?
Danielle Maltby: What aren’t we doing! I am driving up to Akron this weekend for Christmas but also for some job shadows, and then the following weekend we are heading up to the northwoods of Wisconsin to do Christmas with my family.

BN: That sounds amazing! Will you be spending time with each other’s families?
DM: Yes! So happy we are able to have time with both our families. I can’t wait to spend Christmas with Michael and James.
BN: We can’t wait to see those photos — so cute! Are there any new traditions you’d like to incorporate this year?
DM: Baking has always been something I do with my mom. We make tons of cookies and always end up frustrated with waiting for the spritz cookie dough to get to the right temperature haha — but they always end up delicious. I’m excited to do that with James this weekend. Pick one of my favorite holiday cookies and make those with him.
BN: What a sweet idea! What are you most excited about for the holiday season together?
DM: I am so happy to just spend this time of year with Michael and our families. I think Michael is most excited to try snowmobiling with my family up north :)

BN: Oh, that sounds fun! Are you planning on getting each other gifts?
DM: Michael and I really want to travel together and spend time making actual memories. So we are starting our travel fund, but I got a little something for him. I think he will get a bigger kick out of what I made for James for Christmas than James will, but we’ll see!
BN: So excited to see where you two jet off to in 2023! Is there a signature dish/recipe you hope your partner makes?
DM: Michael is a great cook. His family always does the Feast of the Seven Fishes Christmas Eve, and he does a lot of the cooking for Christmas, so I’m just ready to eat and help out where I can.
BN: Sounds delicious! How do you plan on maximizing your time with your significant other during the holidays?

DM: Well, we will have hours in the car and spending NYE with my friends in Chicago, but Michael and I are so good at just finding each other. At family and friend gatherings, though, we both just kind of do our own thing. It’s important to both of us to get one-on-one time with each other’s families and get to know them. It’s really fun and special.
BN: That sounds so special. After these first few months as a couple, what have you learned and hope to take into the new year?
DM: Wow, truly it’s so wild. I feel like I’m constantly in awe of the support that’s just given so easy, and knowing my fears in past relationships of being too much for someone just aren’t true with him. I am enough and I can count on him. I’ve learned that I’m actually in a partnership and dating someone who is more than capable of support. He’s my gift.
BN: You’re going to make us cry! Happy holidays to you both. Sending all our love!
