Bachelor Nation fans saw Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell find love and get engaged on Season 20 of “The Bachelor.”

The two eventually went their separate ways and have since both found love off-screen and married their respective partners.

And on a new episode of his “Almost Famous” podcast, Ben discusses meeting Lauren’s husband, country singer Chris Lane, for the first time.

The two were playing in the same golf tournament and Ben told his co-host Ashley Iaconetti that he ran into his ex’s husband right away.

Ben shared he was nervous to meet Chris at first, saying, “Chris Lane was there this weekend with us, who’s married to Lauren Lane, formerly Lauren Bushnell, who I obviously know well. I was nervous and anxious. I haven’t seen Lauren since we split. It doesn’t really haunt me, but it’s just a thing where how often do you want to run into your exes? Maybe some people are cool with it. I don’t do it often. It’s not a habit of mine.”

The former Bachelor went on, sharing, “I was thinking this could be weird and I was hoping it would be all good. She’s married with two kids, I’m married. Life has gone very well for the both of us. We’re both very happy, but that first interaction was going to be a little weird. I didn’t see Lauren, but I did see Chris and Lauren’s dad who was there helping Chris out. And I have to say, it was awesome. It really was.”

Ben said that while he was worried at first, he quickly realized there was nothing to be nervous about.

Ben explained, “Chris is very kind and very nice. There was no weirdness or awkwardness. It was just good to see him. It was good to rip that Band-Aid off and have the first interaction. We ran into each other within 10 minutes of being at the same hotel. He didn’t see me at first, so I went up to him and said hey, and then our conversation started about the week. It was also great to see Lauren’s dad. He approached me and said hello. It went great overall. There was no drama there.”

At the end of the day, Ben is glad he got to meet Chris and see Lauren’s family again for the first time since their split.

“I’m really happy to have gotten to meet him in person and talk to him. It was in a weird way therapeutic just to see Lauren’s loved ones again. They are great people, so I definitely wanted them to know that we are all good,” Ben shared.
