EXCLUSIVE: Gabi & Genevie Open Up About Their Relationships with Zach on Football Date
Checking in!
Bachelor Nation fans are getting to know Gabi and Genevie on Zach Shallcross’ season of “The Bachelor.”
During their group date with Zach this week, the two women stopped by for an exclusive chat with BachelorNation.com about the season so far.
Check out their full interview below!
Bachelor Nation: Thank you so much for chatting with Bachelor Nation! How are you feeling about your connection with Zach so far?
Gabi: So far, my connection with Zach has been pretty surface level. This is only our second group date and I haven’t had as much one-on-one time yet because I didn’t get to talk to him the first night. We chatted about that at the last Rose Ceremony, and I felt really good. He reassured me that all relationships move at different paces, so I feel excited to see what’s going to happen. Everything is just in the early phases up until this point, so I’m excited to hopefully get more opportunities to talk to him.
Genevie: This season has been going really well so far. Zach is an amazing guy. I feel like I’m making a good connection with him. He’s so down-to-earth and he makes everyone feel really good. He is a really good listener. And it’s not the kind of listening where you’re just looking at someone and nodding; he’s really actively listening. He reciprocates back, and that really stands out.
BN: How have you been making the most of your one-on-one time with Zach?
Gabi: The first time I really chatted with Zach, it was a very eye-opening moment. I realized I needed to go in with goals for my conversation and think about what I wanted to talk to him about. First group date, I was left feeling a little bit discouraged because I didn’t feel like I got to have the conversation that would have helped move our relationship forward. So going into the Rose Ceremony, I decided three things that I really wanted to talk to him about and that helped because I felt so much better leaving that conversation.
Genevie: It’s definitely important to make the most of your time with Zach, and I try to find those little moments where I can stand out to him. I just gave him a little tackle hug while we were warming up to include him.

BN: Has this experience on “The Bachelor” been how you expected it to be so far?
Gabi: I don’t think anyone can prepare you for what this experience will be like. It’s definitely harder to let your guard down and it’s way more emotional than you think it will be. It’s hard to see a guy you’re trying to get to know spending time with other women. There’s a lot of comparison that happens, but it also makes the moments with Zach that we do get so exciting. This experience does teach you to really cherish those little moments.
Genevie: I feel like this experience has been everything I expected and more. The craziness, surprises, and activities have all been so fun. I love sports, so this football date was my jam.
BN: What are you looking forward to in the rest of the season?
Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.
Gabi: I would love to get a one-on-one so we could really get to know each other more. I want him to see my real, true personality and I want to see his so we can see if it’s something that’s worth pursuing more. Zach has such great emotional intelligence and he is very genuine. He shows that in a lot of ways in my conversations with him. He’s been very reassuring to me. We also have a lot of the same values and are looking for something similar in a relationship.
Genevie: I am enjoying the way our connection is progressing and I am enjoying getting to know Zach on a deeper level. I’m excited for all that’s in store. It’s still pretty early, so I haven’t gotten a one-on-one date yet, but nothing is off the table!
BN: Thank you both so much. Enjoy the rest of your group date!
Make sure to tune in to “The Bachelor” on Monday nights at 8 p.m. on ABC to see how their love stories unfold!
