‘The Bachelor’s’ Brooklyn Shares a Message to Other Survivors: ‘Healing Isn’t a Linear Journey’
Brave beyond belief.
Bachelor Nation fans saw Brooklyn go on a one-on-one date with Zach last week when “The Bachelor” was in the Bahamas.
During the night portion of their date, Brooklyn opened up to Zach about a past long-term relationship of hers where her former partner was abusive.
Now, Brooklyn stopped by the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast, where she opened up more to co-host Michelle Young.
Michelle commended Brooklyn on her bravery and ability to share her story because it’s helped so many others who are going through or have been through something similar.
Brooklyn said she’s received thousands of messages from Bachelor Nation fans sharing their stories and saying how her being so vulnerable about her experience helped them feel less alone.

So Michelle asked Brooklyn if she has a message or and advice for those people who have been reaching out.
Brooklyn said, “Something I would tell anyone in a situation similar to my past situation and healing is that first and foremost, you are strong, you are courageous, and you are worthy of love. I would also say that healing is not a linear journey. You will have good days, you will have bad days, and you can’t dwell on the bad days. Every day is an active choice.”
She went on, sharing, “The hardest part is leaving, truthfully. But even after that, after you’ve left, which is the hardest part, you have to choose to love yourself every day, know your worth, and to keep moving forward. It is possible and it is so worth it. I would encourage everyone who is healing from a similar situation to keep the strength and stay strong. Choose yourself and don’t dwell on your bad days.”
And Brooklyn shared how grateful she was to all the other women on “The Bachelor” with her for their support.

She said, “The support from all the women was incredible. We had a great group of girls. Everyone there was incredibly supportive in all aspects, but after opening up to Zach, I’ve heard from every single woman in the house. They told me how proud of me they were and thanked me for sharing for other people. They were there for me as a shoulder to cry on and as an ear to listen.”
Brooklyn went on and showed some love to her Bachelor Nation BFF Charity, saying, “The support during filming and after has been incredible. Charity is my rock, so I was truly grateful to be able to confide in her and dive a lot deeper with her in a lot of these conversations, but especially that one. She really helped me talk through it and I am beyond thankful for everyone, but certainly thankful for Charity and our friendship.”
