Sarah Herron Shares Meaningful Way She’s Honoring Her Son Oliver with His Urn: ‘Rest Easy My Sweet Angel’
Remembering Oliver.
Bachelor Nation first met Sarah Herron on Season 17 of “The Bachelor,” and she returned to our screens for Seasons 1 and 3 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
In September, after many highs and lows of her IVF journey, Sarah revealed that she and her fiancé Dylan Brown were expecting a baby boy.
Then last month, Sarah took to Instagram to share the tragic news that their baby boy Oliver passed away shortly after he was born prematurely at 24 weeks.
Now, Sarah is revealing how she and Dylan are honoring their son with a special urn.
Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.
Alongside a custom urn and a photo of her sonogram, Sarah wrote, “This morning Oliver made his big venture from the white gift bag that has sat on my nightstand for the last 2 months to an official urn. The urn that I had custom made for him with little sea turtles, arrived several weeks ago, but I hadn’t been ready to transfer him.”
The Bachelor Nation star went on saying, “I had grown comforted by the familiarity (and the comical irony) that my son’s ashes have been sitting next to my bed in a white gift bag. But this morning, as Jack Johnson played on the radio and we finished eating our pancakes – a morning I would have wished to share with my son – it felt time to move him out of the gift bag and into his little turtle pot.”
Sarah concluded her post writing, “We still have plans to spread his remains someday, but for now I want him home with us. Rest easy my sweet angel.”
If you’ve been keeping up with Sarah’s journey, you know that sea turtles are an important part of her relationship with her late son.
During their trip to Hawaii while Sarah was pregnant with Oliver, she got to swim with sea turtles, and now they serve as a special reminder of him.
We are continuing to keep Sarah, Dylan, and their entire family in our thoughts as they mourn the unimaginable loss of Oliver.
We know that Sarah bravely sharing her experience and holding space for this community is continuing to help so many others.
