Opening up.
Bachelor Nation fans first met Nate Mitchell on Season 19 of “The Bachelorette,” and the fan favorite has been keeping us updated with his life on social media since his time on the show.
Now, Nate stopped by for an exclusive chat with BachelorNation.com, where he opened up about if he’s interested in going on “Bachelor in Paradise,” his favorite “Bachelorette” memory, and more.
Check out our full interview with Nate below.
Bachelor Nation: Thank you so much for sitting down with us, Nate! How does it feel looking back on your “Bachelorette” journey now that it’s been around a year since the show?
Nate Mitchell: It was such a whirlwind. When I was in it, it felt like it was so long with the days feeling like weeks, but in retrospect it was the blink of an eye. Sometimes I miss it! The camaraderie, the dating format, and the spontaneity of not knowing what was coming each day. I appreciate the experience even more now that I’m out of it.

BN: Love that! Is there anything you learned about yourself on the show now that you’ve had some time to reflect on the journey?
NM: Oh, absolutely, I learned so much about myself. My biggest takeaway is that I need to get better at voicing my feelings rather than just thinking them. When I was on the show, I really bought into the idea that if I was going to find love, I had to express myself. So I pushed myself out of my own comfort zone, and I think I’ve taken that ideology into my life now. I try to push out of my comfort zone and express my emotions and embrace everything that I feel.
BN: That’s amazing. Do you feel like going on “The Bachelorette” changed the way you move through dating now?
NM: The show definitely changed how I approached dating. I saw how much one day meant when I was on the show made me take everyone’s time a lot more seriously after the show. I don’t take anyone’s time for granted at all now.
BN: So sweet! Do you have a favorite memory from your time on “The Bachelorette” that you still look back on fondly?

NM: One thing that stands out was my one-on-one date with Gabby. When we finished our date in L.A. in the station, we just danced in the station, just us two. I don’t think they showed it on the show, but that was one of the sweetest moments that I had that I reminisce on and I’m still thankful for that moment. We were just present and there with each other. The most fun part of the date was that end.
BN: What a special moment! Have you thought at all about wanting to go on “Bachelor in Paradise” this summer?
NM: Going to “Paradise” hasn’t really been on my radar. I haven’t really thought about it. It was just a blur even getting to go on “The Bachelorette” and it’s been around a year now since I’ve been on the show. I know some of the other guys who want to go, but I haven’t really thought about it for myself.
BN: Is there anything you wish Bachelor Nation fans knew about you that you feel like they still haven’t fully gotten to know yet?
NM: I think a lot of what Bachelor Nation fans saw from me was the emotional side, but I’m also really goofy. I don’t take myself that seriously and I love to be fun and joke a lot more than I am serious. If there was one part of my character that I don’t feel like fans got to know enough, it was my goofiness and that I dance too much!

BN: And last but not least, would you ever let your daughter go on “The Bachelor” one day if she wanted to once she’s old enough?
NM: I would say definitely go for it. Anything that could push her outside of her comfort zone and makes her step out of her day-to-day norm, I say go for it! If she did ever want to do the show one day, I’d say go for it. She did get to see a little bit of my season, I had her watch some of the non-kissing scenes. I wanted her to watch in hopes of getting her to think I was cool, but that didn’t work!
BN: Love it! Thank you so much, Nate!
