Other fans asked Rachel about her career as a pilot and flight instructor. One person asked if she enjoys teaching people to fly and Rachel said, “I’ll be honest this job is HARD work for not a lot of pay. you have to know exactly what you are doing at all times & be able to explain everything in detail with the reasoning behind it.”
The former Bachelorette went on, saying, “i used to spend hours making and reviewing lesson plans for one ground lesson. each student learns so differently and you have to allow them to make mistakes which can be difficult for me. I have become a much better pilot from teaching BUT for me it’s just a stepping stone for what I actually want, which is to work in the airlines.”

Rachel shared that her favorite plane to fly is the Beechcraft Baron because it was the first new plane that she felt really good at flying immediately.
One fan asked if flying ever worries her, and Rachel got candid about a scary experience.
She said, “There was one time when I was getting my commercial license and I had an RPM gauge failure (which at the time I thought was my engine failing). I was on a solo (flying alone) for six hours and when I landed back home I kissed the ground.”
Wow, how scary! We’re so glad Rachel was safe.
