Carly Waddell Shares Behind-the-Scenes ‘Paradise’ Tea and Reveals Her Current Feelings About Love
Opening up.
Fans first met Bachelor Nation star Carly Waddell on Season 19 of “The Bachelor,” and she returned to our screens for Seasons 2 and 3 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
On Season 2 of “Bachelor in Paradise,” Carly went through one of the most heartbreaking splits in Bachelor Nation history when Kirk broke up with her on the very last day on the beach.
Now, Carly stopped by the “Click Bait with Bachelor Nation” podcast and opened up about being blindsided in that moment.
She said, “This is a little inside information about the whole Kirk thing. The reason I freaked out, honestly, wasn’t because he was breaking up with me, it was because 20 minutes before that, we were sitting at the pool and he was inviting me back to his house. He was like, ‘I’m so excited for you to see my home,’ and then he broke up with me 20 minutes later. The cameras weren’t on us for the first part, but that’s why I was so confused.”

Carly went on, adding, “I thought everyone was playing a trick on me or something. I thought I was being punked. Yes, I was heartbroken because he was breaking up with me, but it was more than that. I thought I was being really tricked because he just said something different to me 20 minutes ago. Now he’s sitting here telling me that it’s over and that’s what was messing with my brain.”
“Click Bait” co-hosts Mari Pepin, Jill Chin, and Aaron Clancy shared that they understood why Carly felt so blindsided.
They also asked if Carly and Kirk ever reconnected after the show finished filming to talk more about what happened.
Carly said, “That was not a fun day for me. We did talk again after the show. He had a girl back home basically, and I don’t know if he broke up with her for the show, but he said he couldn’t stop thinking about her when he was dating me, which didn’t make me feel better. At least I knew it wasn’t me.”

And after enduring such a shocking heartbreak, the co-hosts asked Carly how she decided to come back and give “Paradise” another shot for Season 3.
Carly said, “I came back again because I really do truly believe in love. I know what it feels like. With my kids, they give me such a pure love, so I know it does exist out there. I think going back into ‘Paradise,’ I knew it was out there for me and I still know it’s out there for me. I will truly never give up on love. That’s one thing I’ll say about myself.”
We love that! Check out more of Carly’s conversation on the “Click Bait” podcast below.
