EXCLUSIVE: Ashley Iaconetti Haibon Celebrates Mother’s Day with Bachelor Nation!
Celebrating Mother’s Day!
As fans know, Ashley Iaconetti Haibon and Jared Haibon first met on Season 2 of “Bachelor in Paradise” in 2015.
Then, after many ups and downs on Seasons 2 and 3 of “BIP,” they surprised fans and announced their relationship in 2018.
The two got engaged on Season 5 of “Bachelor in Paradise” and tied the knot in August 2019.
Since then, they welcomed their son Dawson last year, and now, Ashley is stopping by to chat with BachelorNation.com exclusively about Mother’s Day and what it means to her to be a mom.
Check out Ashley’s full interview below!
Bachelor Nation: Thank you so much for chatting with us, and happy Mother’s Day, Ashley! What does being a mom mean to you?
Ashley Iaconetti: Thank you for having me! Being a mom means being depended on for love, care, and learning. It’s the most important job in the world to shape a child’s mind and personality, and it means walking around with your heart in someone else.
BN: Awww, that is so sweet! What is your ideal way to celebrate Mother’s Day?
AI: I’d like to spend most of the day with Jared, Dawson, and our dog Lois outside eating good food and being by the ocean. Hopefully it’ll be warm! Ideally I’d also get a spa treatment and some alone time to relax and a homemade gift Jared helped Dawson make.
BN: That sounds like a dream day. How has motherhood changed you?
AI: I think I value my family even more now. We’ve always been sooo close, but now I want to be around them even more. I love sharing Dawson moments and his development with them. I treasure the time we’re all together watching Dawson eat at a restaurant, laugh, learn words, search for Easter eggs, etc. I also have such a deeper appreciation for all the work and time my mom gave us as a stay-at-home mom.
BN: That is really special. What has surprised you most about motherhood?
AI: I look forward to getting Dawson in bed so I can watch TV and eat dinner and relax after hours of go, go, go... But then an hour after he falls asleep, I miss him and want to take him out of his crib and snuggle with him.
BN: So relatable! Do you have any advice for fellow new parents?
AI: If your baby/toddler doesn’t go to sleep easily or won’t sleep through the night when it’s age appropriate, get a Cradlewise. Wish I knew about it a year ago.
BN: Great advice! If he could, how do you think Dawson would describe you as a mom?
AI: Comforting, shockingly patient with me (aka Dawson), encouraging, and affectionate.
BN: Love that! Do you have a favorite part of parenthood?
AI: Yes! Seeing him learn new things and be proud of himself brings me so much joy. The other day I wanted to see if he could point to all the Sesame Street characters correctly when I called out their names. He got 7/7 right! We were both so excited to see him understand names and faces so well.
BN: That’s amazing! As a mom, what do you hope your children learn from you?
AI: I hope they learn passion, determination, and the value of hard work. I hope they learn that family and love is more important than anything else. I hope they learn to be warm and welcoming to others and someone that others want to be around.
BN: That’s really sweet. What is your proudest moment as a mom?
AI: Whenever I make him smile from giving him support. For example, he’s been starting to stand on his own this week and we look at each other with these big, excited expressions, like we’re so happy to be accomplishing these new skills together.
BN: What special moments! Would you ever let Dawson watch your Bachelor Nation journey one day?
AI: Haha, most of it! More of it as he gets older. Definitely the big moments like when Jared and I met, our first date, our engagement, etc.
BN: Yes! How special to have those moments documented for him to see one day. What are you most looking forward to doing with Dawson and any future kiddos in the future?
AI: As pop culture lovers, Jared and I are very excited to show them our favorite movies, take them to concerts, and Disney World. I’m looking forward to Dawson watching “Titanic” for the first time and being introduced to his namesake. He’s already loving the Jonas Brothers’ music and dancing to it. I’m hoping to see more of those passions develop. I want to see him play sports with Jared. Dawson’s very favorite thing is throwing balls, so to see him shoot hoops or be on the football field with Jared will be very cool.
BN: How sweet! We can’t wait for it all. Sending your entire family love and wishing you a very happy Mother’s Day, Ashley!
