Charity Lawson Discusses Falling in Love with Multiple People and Shares her Biggest Bachelorette Challenge
Opening up.
Our Bachelorette Charity Lawson’s love story is currently unfolding on-screen every Monday night, and she just stopped by “Good Morning America” for a chat about her season.
Charity revealed the biggest challenge she’s faced so far in the leading role, saying, “Just making the adjustment to being recognized in public and also watching all of this back, that’s been very interesting, to say the least.”
The Bachelorette also teased what kind of dates we can expect to see on the rest of her season.
Charity said, “I will say, my entire season is filled with so many fun dates. We have a very fun group date coming up that’s Barbie themed, so be on the lookout for that. On the group dates, I do my best to manage time and split my time between all the guys. At first it can be awkward, because you don’t know how to go about dating like this. As the season progresses, it definitely gets a lot easier. I also have some really thrilling one-on-ones, like bungee jumping. I literally said I was never going to do anything like that, but here we are!”
And with all those special dates, love is in the air! Charity shared with the “GMA” hosts whether she prepared herself to develop such strong feelings for multiple men.
She said, “I will be honest, I don’t think I did brace myself for that possibility. I don’t think I prepared myself for that possibility for falling in love with more than one person. I mean, in the real world, you don’t have the opportunity to date multiple people at the same time and form these kinds of strong connections. So for me, falling in love with multiple people definitely came as a shock. I was like, how do I help myself with this and process what I’m feeling? The hardest part is choosing.”
And Charity shared what helped her during those difficult decisions, saying, “I journaled from the very beginning of my experience all the way to the end, which is so nice to be able to go back and reflect on. In this environment, there’s so much that’s going on and I have a lot of thoughts happening all at once, so to be able to take my thoughts and put them on paper helped me regulate my emotions a lot better. Journaling was the most helpful thing for me.”
She also leaned on her family when she got the chance to check in with them, including her brother Nehemiah, who fans saw join in on her Night 1.
Charity explained, “I obviously had no idea that he was coming, and when Jesse told me somebody from my past was showing up, I was thinking it might be an ex and I hoped not. When it was him, I was truly so excited.”
She went on, “My brother and I are super close. We have a great relationship and having him there on Night 1 was able to provide me a level of calmness, and he ended up having insight on what was happening behind the scenes that I couldn’t see. My brother is very nice, but he did keep it honest. He kept it real with me, which helped.”
