This Week in Bachelor Nation History: Andi Dorfman Sends Chris Soules Home During Their Date
Throwing it back to overnight dates!
This week in Bachelor Nation history, we’re looking back on Season 10 Bachelorette Andi Dorfman’s journey.
Back in 2014, this was the week we watched Andi take Josh Murray, Nick Viall, and Chris Soules to the Dominican Republic for Fantasy Suite dates.
Nick meets Andi first, and despite initially struggling to say how he’s feeling, he confesses his love for her.
Nick says, “I love what I know about you. Like, I love that you’re a serious girl who doesn’t take herself so seriously. I love that you know what you want, but you can go with the flow… I love that you’re very confident and strong but not afraid to be vulnerable. And I love you, Andi.”
And next, Andi has her date with Josh, where he also shares his true feelings.
Josh reveals, “I’ve wanted to tell you I do love you. I’ve never said that to somebody before that I really meant it.”
And last, Andi prepares for her date with Chris and confesses her hesitation about their relationship.
Andi says, “To me, the Fantasy Suite isn’t just another date — it means a lot more to me than that. And I’m still not sure that Chris and I are at that point yet.”
During her conversation with Chris about moving to his hometown in Iowa, Andi opens up about how she’s feeling.
The Bachelorette admits to Chris, “I feel like I’m at a crossroads with you. There’s a struggle between, like, seeing, like, what an amazing person is right in front of me, and then, like, also being unsure about it.”
Eventually, Andi breaks down in tears and decides to send Chris home before the overnight portion of their date.
She says, “I can’t feel the same things that you’re feeling. I could sit here and blame it on Iowa, and I could take the easy way out I guess and say I can’t see myself in Iowa, which is partly true, but…”
Chris chimes in, saying, “I’m incredibly disappointed, but I get it. I want your feelings to be for me — and if they’re not, I want to go home.”
