Aaron B. Reveals Why He Talked to Charity About What Brayden Was Saying Behind Her Back
Opening up.
This week, Bachelor Nation fans saw drama escalate between Aaron B. and Brayden after Aaron B. brought his concerns to Charity about Brayden’s intentions.
Now Aaron B. is stopping by the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast to reveal why he went to Charity with his concerns.
The Bachelor Nation star told co-hosts Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt, “I feel like everything kind of compounded for Brayden from Night 1 to this point. He had quarrels about the process. Me having that one-on-one with Charity and getting to have those special moments let me build a strong connection with her.”
Aaron B. went on, saying, “So to hear someone else say they are not sure about this process and that she has some character flaws made me feel like he was hurting someone that I’m dating. I took that personally and I wanted to feel like I was her protector in a way.”
He shared why he felt so strongly about talking to Charity, saying, “She’s on an island by herself and doesn’t have a lot of people she can trust to talk to, so I definitely took note of what Brayden was saying around the house, especially after his one-on-one. Like, he had a rose and her trust; what are you not sure about? Those things kept adding up. There were other guys that want to be here that would want that time.”
Joe and Serena asked if there was more Brayden said that we didn’t see on-screen that made Aaron B. want to talk to Charity.
Aaron B. said, “I’m not going to air it all out, but he was definitely saying more things about her character around the house. What was aired was a pretty accurate depiction of what was going through his head. We were on that couch after the kissing date and there were a few guys arguing and it was mostly Brayden and Adrian.”
He continued, adding, “This is her journey. We signed up for this and we have to lean into the process. You won’t spiral as much if you aren’t thinking about what’s happening weeks down the line. Just think about what you’re doing. She is the Bachelorette and she’s trying to find her husband and she’s trying to have fun while doing it.”
And Serena asked if he had planned to have that conversation with Charity or if it came up naturally.
Aaron B. said, “I feel like there was so much going through my head. It had been a while since I’d seen Charity, so first I was trying to keep our romance and chemistry alive. But in the back of my mind, I also needed to come forward with what I was hearing from Brayden because I wanted to put my words into actions as her protector. It was conflicting at first, but once I sat down and was talking to her and she was tired, and I saw her trying so hard to do all of this.”
He went on, saying, “So to know that someone was ridiculing her behind her back made it easy to talk to her about it. I know she is such an incredible woman, and this guy was screwing with her in the background when she couldn’t see. I just wanted her to know and she could make her own decision.”
And Aaron reflected on watching the show back and how it feels to see it all unfold.
He said, “The power of hindsight is crazy. Watching it back, I realized that from what was shown, that what he was telling us was not what he was telling Charity at all. He was very open with Charity, but in the background, he was talking more about packing his bags and how this wasn’t going to work. I was on the balcony one day after my one-on-one and he comes out and says he doesn’t think this is going to work, so there were some red flags in my head and I wanted to let her know.”
