EXCLUSIVE: Five Things to Know About Our New ‘Golden Bachelor’ Gerry Turner!
It’s official!
Our very first Golden Bachelor has been announced, and it’s none other than Gerry Turner.
The charming 71-year-old patriarch from Indiana is looking for love again after his late wife Toni passed away six years ago.
Always a romantic, Gerry married his high school sweetheart, Toni, in 1974. Together, they lived a full and happy life with their two daughters, Angie and Jenny, and later two granddaughters, Charlee and Payton.
Sadly, after 43 years together, Toni suddenly fell ill and passed away in 2017.
So now, with the support of his family, Gerry is ready to put himself out there and find a love that will stand the test of time in his golden years.
And ahead of kicking off his journey as the Golden Bachelor, Gerry stopped by and shared five facts about himself with us exclusively at BachelorNation.com.
Learn more about our leading man below!
1) “I am from Iowa, but I currently live on a beautiful lake in Indiana. I love all lake activities! I enjoy taking my grandkids on pontoon boat rides and doing jet ski races with them. I have two daughters and two granddaughters!”
2) “I love playing pickleball and I play around three times a week. I can get very competitive and each week I believe I prove age isn’t a factor! I also love golf, bowling, and having breakfast with my group of close friends every Friday morning; we call ourselves ‘The Old Farts Club.’"
3) “I have a goldendoodle named Dakota. I love goldendoodles so much! She’s the best.”
4) “I am an avid sports fan. And despite not being from Chicago, one of my favorite teams is the Chicago Bears. I also love the shows “Chicago Med”/“Chicago Fire” — guess I’m a Chicago guy at heart.”
5) “My favorite artists are Pentatonix, the Black Eyed Peas, and P!nk, and it's my dream to see Pitbull in concert one day.”
Make sure to tune in to “The Golden Bachelor” this fall to watch Gerry’s journey to find love unfold.
