Shawn Booth Is Expecting His First Baby in December: ‘I’ve Always Wanted to Be a Dad’

Bachelor Nation fans first met Shawn Booth on Season 11 of “The Bachelorette,” and he’s been keeping fans updated with his life on social media ever since.
This week, the Bachelor Nation star took to his podcast “In the Booth with Shawn Booth,” to share that he’s expecting his first baby!
He said he had a big announcement and revealed that he was “going to be a dad.”
Shawn shared when his baby is due, saying, “December 12, baby Booth on their way. It’s happening. I’m going to be a father.”
And when it comes to who the mom of his baby is, Shawn said, “I’ve dated since the show. I’ve dated a bunch of people. I’ve had a girlfriend... I’ve always just kept things private.”
He went on, adding, “The mother is somebody who I’ve been close with for years. We’ve had a relationship and we’ve dated. This just isn’t some random girl I met at Honky Tonk Central. This is a big surprise for both of us.”
So while he shared that the pregnancy wasn’t planned, Shawn said, “It will be and is the most beautiful surprise I’ve ever had in my life. And it’s gonna be very special. I can’t wait. I’m ready. I’m 37 years old. I’ve always wanted to be a dad.”
For now, Shawn is keeping the mother of his baby private, though he said he hopes she will come on his podcast soon to talk more about their baby.
He did share though that she’s 18 weeks pregnant and that they are waiting to find out the sex of their baby so they can be surprised.
And Shawn shared a response to anyone who may have concerns about his path to fatherhood, saying, “I’m sure there will be a lot of people who have thoughts and opinions and all that. And I think now probably more than ever, I’ve gotten to a point where I’m like, ‘I don’t care what anybody thinks.’ If they’re like, You’re not married,’ it’s like, ‘Listen, that’s not what’s important here.’”
