Dotun Explains Why He Never Brought Up Brayden to Charity: ‘I Don’t Do Drama’
Drama-free.
Bachelor Nation fans are getting to know Dotun on Charity’s season of “The Bachelorette,” and now he’s stopping by for a candid conversation on the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast.
Dotun opened up to co-hosts Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt about this season’s drama and why he didn’t get involved.
He explained, “My approach to the Brayden situation and to life in general is that I don’t do drama. I don’t think there is a lot of value in drama. Generally, things fall into place as they should. I would have never gone to her about him.”
Dotun went on, saying, “My whole goal was to just build on the relationship I had with Charity in the time I had with her. The time is already so limited that I couldn’t fathom for a second talking about someone else. I don’t think there was a single time when I even mentioned someone else’s name.”
Joe and Serena both said they noticed Dotun didn’t talk about anyone else and that they respected that about him.
Dotun brought up another point of contention that came up while filming, saying, “People will be like, ‘Are you going to win?’ And it’s not winning anything. This is stressful. If you’re looking at it in that frame, that’s insane. This is not a game; it’s really tough. As much as we’re having on these dates, it’s a really tough process. That’s what Brayden was expressing, which I understand, but there’s a way to sit with your emotions. If you want to go home, do it on your own accord like a man and leave instead of having this back and forth. He was sucking the air out of the room in a way.”
Joe and Serena asked Dotun what he thought about others like Aaron B. going to Charity with his concerns.
Dotun said, “So for me, I could never worry about speaking to her about anybody else. That being said, am I mad that Aaron snitched? No. It’s not a bad thing. If anyone wants to go snitch, I’m not going to hold you back. Go handle that and let her know, that’s cool with me. I’m just going to sit back here and just watch with my wine in my hand.”
The Bachelor Nation star shared more insight as to why he didn’t want to talk about anyone else though.
Dotun said, “I don’t know if it’s the best approach to talk about anyone else. The experience is two months, so if you talk about anyone else for five minutes, you just wasted a month on somebody else that you could’ve spent on yourself for her to get to know you.
“You also get coupled with that, like when you think of this person you’re thinking of another person instead of just someone by themselves. It doesn’t seem wise to do that, so it wasn’t in my character or mindset to do that.”
