Shawn Booth Introduces His Baby’s Mother Dre Joseph on Podcast: ‘I’ve Started to Feel the Baby’
Special introduction.
Bachelor Nation fans first met Shawn Booth on Season 11 of “The Bachelorette,” and he’s been keeping fans updated with his life on social media ever since.
Last week, the Bachelor Nation star took to his podcast “In the Booth with Shawn Booth,” to share that he’s expecting his first baby.
Now, he’s introducing his baby’s mom to the world on his podcast, and we couldn’t be happier for the two of them.
On this week’s episode, Shawn said, “This is a very special episode. It’s been a wild, wild week. We’re excited. I made an announcement that I am expecting a kid and to my left, in the hot seat, she is now 19 weeks pregnant. We’ve got a very gorgeous lady here, a beautiful mama. I think the kids like the call them MILFs. Ladies and gentlemen, the lady you’ve been waiting for all week, Dre Joseph.”
How exciting!
Dre shared where she’s at in her pregnancy right now, saying, “I’ve started to feel the baby a little bit, like little flutters. It’s a crazy feeling, those first things that you feel. It’s like something is just moving through there.”
Shawn asked her what she’s most nervous about when it comes to becoming a mom.
Dre got candid, saying, “I’m nervous about living up to my own expectations. I hear a lot of times that new moms set all these expectations and then they kind of beat themselves up for what they think motherhood will look like or postpartum will look like.”
The mom-to-be continued, “What we see on social media is in rose-colored glasses, so I know there’s a lot of nitty-gritty that goes into it. It’s super hard and I just want to remember to give myself grace and that you and I are going to do the absolute best we can.”
And Shawn responded with his own thoughts on parenting and revealed some of his fears.
He said, “I feel like there’s no playbook either, and that’s what everybody says — you just get thrown into the fire and you just have to figure it out one day at a time.”
Shawn continued, “I get nervous about them getting hurt, but then I see so many videos of kids and I’m like, kids are just like little rubber balls. Do they not have ACLs? They just bounce back up.”
We are so happy for Shawn and Dre and can’t wait to meet their baby in December!
