Bachelor Nation fans got to know and love Raven Gates Gottschalk on Season 21 of “The Bachelor” and on Season 4 of “Bachelor in Paradise,” where she met her husband, Adam Gottschalk.

The two welcomed their son Gates in January 2022, and they just welcomed their second baby boy, Max, last week.

After Max was born, Raven and Adam waited a few days to share his name and revealed they originally had a different name picked out for him.

At the time, Raven said, “Adam and I are still debating names. We were so set on this particular name and then we saw the baby and it just didn’t fit! We were up late going back and forth on a name that we think works better. It’s hard when you have the name set and then it just doesn’t fit the baby.”

Now, during a recent Instagram Q&A, Raven revealed the full name they originally had picked out for their son before meeting him.

Raven said, “We didn’t have a name we absolutely loved, but we had decided on Asa Jordan. Same initials as Adam and same middle name as Adam. But after we saw him something bizarre happened. Adam’s dad ALWAYS wanted us to name him Max. When we saw him for the first time my mom, my dad, and Adam’s mom mentioned the name Max. No one really knew Adam’s dad wanted Max as his name, so it was all a major coincidence.”

The mom of two went on, saying, “Everyone said he looked like a Max. And to me and Adam, he did too! So I waited two days in the hospital to turn in his name on the birth certificate because I wanted to make sure that I liked Max despite everyone else loving that name. And it just clicked. His name is Max! And I love it and Adam’s dad is very happy (; He told me last December that ‘I know Max is the right decision’ and yep it was!”

What a sweet story! The name Max was meant to be, and his middle name is now Asa, which was supposed to be his first name.

Raven also discussed both of her kids’ middle names and the significance of them.

She said, “I’m getting a lot of questions of what Asa (Max’s middle name) and Zev (Gates middle name) mean. We wanted Hebrew middle names and Adam’s great grandpa’s name was Zev. I’m the one that picked Asa (if we did end up naming him Asa as his first name we were going to call him Ace). But we moved it to his middle name. I liked the story of King Asa and also the meaning of physician/healer.”

Max Asa and Gates Zev are both beautiful names for two beautiful little boys!
