On this week’s episode of the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast, co-hosts Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt discussed Charity’s Hometown dates.

Joe shared that unlike most of the episodes this season, he really didn’t know what Charity was going to do at the Rose Ceremony.

Her final four men — Aaron B., Joey, Xavier, and Dotun — all had great Hometown dates and it was difficult to know what decision Charity would make.

Joe said, “Usually I know who she’s giving her rose to. This time, I really didn’t know. She ended up not giving a rose to Aaron and she gave one to Joey. She is clearly really upset. When he left, she wondered if she made a huge mistake. I think Aaron is upset. I just felt like their relationship never got there, in my opinion.”

Serena agreed and shared where she thinks Charity and Aaron’s relationship fell short.

She said, “I definitely saw a really strong connection between them on their first date at the beginning of the season. I just felt like at least as a viewer, it looked like it tapered off. I do think that the Brayden drama had a little to do with that, but I also think she just had stronger feelings for other people.”

Serena shared that she was less surprised by Charity sending him home than how the breakup had very little explanation.

Serena said, “I was really surprised by how this person went. I’m always shocked when the lead doesn’t have something prepared, like a little breakup paragraph. They know they are going into a breakup. It makes sense when the person who’s getting dumped doesn’t know what to say because they’re in shock.”

She went on, saying, “But when Charity was bawling her eyes out, she couldn’t give him an explanation as to why she was breaking up with him and that really threw me off. I think she was falling in love with him, but even if the reason is just having stronger feelings for other people, that would help.”

Joe added, “Maybe she went in there truly not knowing what she was going to do in the moment.”

And then the co-hosts discussed who they think may be coming back next week after seeing the shocking teaser for the Fantasy Suites episode.

Serena said, “We’ve seen the promo for next week and we saw in the super tease for the season that someone comes back. You and I both thought it was an ex, but now after watching Aaron and Charity’s breakup, I feel like she left him with no closure and I feel like if I was sitting there seeing someone crying and saying they didn’t know if they were making the right decision and I was in love with that person, maybe I’d go back and try to see if they made a mistake. It could be Aaron.”

Joe chimed in, saying, “I completely agree. They get me every year with this. It probably is Nehemiah and I thought it could be an ex, but now I think it might be Aaron. It would make sense if Aaron is now being told that she might be pondering if she made a mistake, he is going to want to take one more last shot.”
