Lauren Bushnell Lane Gets Candid About Postpartum Anxiety: ‘I’m Starting to Feel Better’
Opening up.
Bachelor Nation fans know Lauren from Season 20 of “The Bachelor,” and since her time on Bachelor Nation shows, she found love with country singer Chris Lane.
The two got married in October 2019 and welcomed their first child together, son Dutton, in June 2021, and their second baby boy, Baker, in October of last year.
Now, Lauren stopped by for a candid conversation with fellow Bachelor Nation star Shawn Booth on his podcast “In the Booth.”
During their chat, Lauren opened up about her experience with postpartum anxiety and depression.
The mom of two shared her experience and what has helped her on her postpartum journey.
Lauren said, “I definitely had postpartum anxiety. I was just very anxious all of the time. I’m not someone to give advice on what to do, but for me, it got to the point where I knew that I needed some sort of a crutch, if you will. So I actually started taking anti-anxiety medication. I’m not going to be on it forever, but for now I need it. It’s just to help me get out of this hard part that I’m in.”
Lauren shared how the medication has been helping her in this chapter and how she’s slowly starting to feel more like herself.
She said, “I feel like I have been feeling more like myself. I think they say it takes your body over two years to fully regulate back to what it was before you got pregnant. I’m nine months postpartum now, and I’m starting to feel better. I feel like anti-anxiety medication for me in both postpartum periods has helped me.”
The Bachelor Nation star also shared what else has helped her during this time aside from her medication.
She said, “Obviously there are so many other things you can do too, like sleeping better, duh. That was a huge problem for me. I do feel so much better now. I have slowly started working out again. So actually moving my body and taking that time to be alone and reset myself has helped a lot.”
We know Lauren opening up about her experience will help so many other new parents struggling with something similar.
