JoJo Fletcher Shares Her Advice for Charity After ‘Bachelorette’ Ends: ‘Don’t Listen to the Noise’
Words of wisdom.
Bachelor Nation fan-favorite couple JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers got married last May in Santa Ynez, California.
Now, the two joined Kaitlyn Bristowe on her “Off the Vine” podcast, and Kaitlyn asked JoJo and Jordan if they had any advice for current Bachelorette Charity Lawson.
JoJo got candid with her answer, saying, “Don’t listen to the noise. The noise is what really hurt us year one. All the noise was damaging to us. That’s the nature of the beast when you’re on a show like this, and there’s media and tabloids making assumptions and preconceived notions. I was very wrong. I look back at my season and I had Jordan and Robby.”
She went on, adding, “What I thought of who Jordan was going to be after the show and what I thought Robby was going to be like after the show was very wrong. I totally misjudged that and I spent a whole season with these two because I just started to let my own mind run. I was listening to what I thought people were thinking within that bubble and I was so wrong.”
JoJo and Jordan shared how they felt pressure to get married sooner, but they were actually very grateful to take six years of dating/being engaged before tying the knot.
JoJo said, “The time piece of it is so important too. Everybody is different. Everyone should do what’s best for them. Maybe we took too long, but that’s what we need and was right for us. Really, don’t listen to the noise. Focus on your relationship and make true decisions for the better interest of your relationship and not anybody else.”
And JoJo shared that while the first year of their relationship was really hard, they made sure to make decisions for them, not for other people.
JoJo said, “We’ve been very open that the first year was very hard. You try to put on such a good face and be perfect because you feel like you have to be. Now that we’re farther away from that, we’re very comfortable saying that’s not reality. That’s not how life works. It would be high highs and low lows for an entire year. We had this one moment where we were like, it’s okay if this is not best for us as individuals.”
