Gushing over Gerry!

Former Bachelorette Trista Sutter stopped by the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast and discussed meeting Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner at the “Men Tell All” special.

She told co-hosts Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt how she feels about the leading man and the show’s premise.

Trista said, “I feel like they’re kind of getting back to how it was in the beginning by shortening the season and not making anything into this huge thing. I have always said for years and years because I get asked all the time what I think the show can do to continue to have legs to stand on and stay around, my biggest thing was to pluck someone from obscurity. Let us all fall in love with them together instead of using people from past seasons. I feel like they’re doing that with Golden Bachelor and I’m really excited.”

She gushed over Gerry, saying, “He is so wholesome. My word for him is wholesome. I met him at ‘Men Tell All,’ and I adore him. My prediction is that everyone is going to fall in love with him together as a Bachelor Nation community and we’re all going to be rooting for him. His story is heartbreaking how he lost his wife. Everyone, me included, we’re all going to want him to find that happiness again.”

Trista teased that she might make an appearance on the upcoming season on one of the dates.

She said, “From what I hear, the women are incredible and there are going to be some incredible dates. I might get to see him again, wink wink! I am really excited that they’re going back to the beginning in a way by plucking someone out of obscurity. They very well could have had a Golden Bachelor that we know from another show like someone’s parent or grandparent. Like Gabby’s grandpa who everyone loved, for example. The fact that we are going to get to know him together, I just love that.”

Trista also shared how she could tell Gerry’s intentions were pure when meeting him and that she knows he’s truly looking for love.

She shared, “I think he is just really sincere in his intentions and I love that personally. I think the women will be the same way too because most of them don’t know anything about social media. Maybe they are on Facebook. When I first met Gerry, it was so cute. I walked in the hair and makeup room, and he was sitting in the chair and I said hi and I had no idea if he knew who I was. I just wanted to say hello to him. We started talking and I asked how social media was going for him.”

Trista continued on, saying, “He had mentioned on ‘GMA’ that he knows nothing and needed to get an Instagram account set up for him. So when I asked how social media is going, he asked if I was on the social media team and I was like, ‘No, I’m just a former Bachelorette!’ and he jumped out of his chair and gave me the biggest hug. It was the cutest thing ever. I just love him. I really think this is who America is going to fall in love with.”
