Rachel Lindsay Reveals Her Plans for Children and Why She & Bryan Abasolo Keep Their Love Private
Opening up.
Former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay stopped by for a candid conversation on fellow former Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe’s podcast “Off the Vine.”
The two were both extremely vulnerable about their lives, and Kaitlyn opened up about her split from Jason Tartick.
Kaitlyn asked Rachel for any advice moving forward in future relationships and how she and her husband Bryan Abasolo keep their relationship so private.
Rachel said, “When we came off the show, you feel the pressure of having to show people how we’re doing. They want that because they fell in love with us a couple and want to see how we’re doing and check in. You feel like you have to perform. I remember being in public at a grocery store and it felt like people were watching us. They were watching our conversation and body language. There was a story that came out about us waiting for an Uber and Bryan walked away from me, I don’t even know why he walked away, maybe he had to throw something away. They blew it up into this whole thing and I felt anxiety to have to perform for people I don’t even know and they don’t know me.”
Rachel went on adding that, “I’m only giving them a piece of what our relationship is. A relationship is up and down, you go through different seasons, it is work. I just didn’t want to do that, so very quickly, we decided that we were only going to share what we wanted to share and people still criticize us for that. There were months that went by where Bryan and I didn’t post and everyone assumed that we were breaking up. They were counting how long it had been since we posted each other and how long it had been since we liked each other’s posts. I don’t even pay attention to that stuff, I’m too present in real life. I’m a terrible social media person. I actually wish I was better.”
Kaitlyn also asked Rachel what her plans are for the next six years and she revealed that she has taken a step back from her job at Extra and wants to start a family.
Rachel said, “I hope for kids. I hope that we work less. Bryan has his own practice here in LA. He’s by himself, so he’s working super long days. I’ve actually taken a step back from work. Now I’m in a very lost phase, a bit of a transition phase. I hope that we have kids and we are working now for something bigger. So I hope that we have built the bigger and can spend more time growing a family. I would also love a little bit more stability. It’s hard in this industry to have that stability and feel comfortable.”
Rachel added that, “I feel the pressure. I’m 38 oh my gosh, I don’t even have eggs frozen. It’s just a lot. My therapist is telling me in this transition phase that this is the first time that I have ever actually had time to be still and deal with my reality. I’ve always escaped it through work. My only job right now is podcasting and I have way more time on my hands.”
