This Week in Bachelor Nation History: Demi Burnett Invites Kristian Haggerty to Stay in ‘Paradise’
Love is love!
As we get excited for the upcoming season of “Bachelor in Paradise,” this week in Bachelor Nation history we’re looking back on an iconic “Paradise” moment.
This week in 2019, Demi Burnett was reunited with her former partner after Chris Harrison tells her they want to “put her in the best position to find love.”
Demi immediately breaks down in tears when she sees her ex Kristian in “Paradise” and the two immediately embrace and share a kiss.
Kristian introduced herself to Bachelor Nation fans saying, “My name is Kristian and Demi and I had been dating. I came all the way down here to pursue and show Demi my level of commitment. I’m very happy I’m here. I have a lot of hope and a lot of excitement. I know that she’s been here for a couple of weeks, so there are some worries about her having feelings for somebody. That would be really hard for me to hear.”
Demi and Kristian say how much they missed each other and gush over how beautiful each other looked.
Then, they have an emotional conversation about their relationship and Demi shares that she met someone else in “Paradise” too.
While Kristian said it’s hard to hear, she is supportive of Demi as she shares how “conflicted” she is trying to figure out what she wants.
Demi said to Kristian, “I thought not seeing you, I wouldn’t still be thinking about you as much. I would be thinking about whatever was in front of me, but the opposite happened. The more I was away from you, the more and more I thought about you. The more time I spend with him, you just kept coming to the forefront of my mind. The second that I saw you, I knew it’s you and it’s always been you. I want to be with you.”
After chatting with Kristian, Demi ends her relationship with Derek who is supportive and happy for Demi, but also sad.
Demi returns and introduces Kristian to the rest of the group and reveals that she is moving in for the rest of the summer!
