This Week in Bachelor Nation History: Jared Haibon Proposes to Ashley Iaconetti in ‘Paradise’
Throwing it back!
As Bachelor Nation fans get excited for Season 9 of “Bachelor in Paradise” to premiere next month, we’re looking back on an iconic “Paradise” moment with an iconic “Paradise” couple.
This week in Bachelor Nation history, Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon got engaged on the very same beach where they met years prior.
As longtime fans know, Ashley and Jared first met on Season 2 of “Bachelor in Paradise” in 2015.
Then, after many ups and downs on Season 2 and 3 of “BIP,” they surprised fans and announced their relationship in 2018.
Then, four years ago this week, Jared surprised Ashley with a beautiful proposal in the place where they fell in love.
In the video below, when Ashley and Jared arrive on the beach, Ashley thinks it is because they are picking a couple to go on a date that week, but Chris Harrison lets the rest of the cast know that’s not really while they are here.
The couple walks down to the sand while the rest of the “Paradise” cast gathers around to watch the proposal from above.
Jared says, “Three years ago, we met right at this spot on this very beach. I love you so much. You believed in me at times when I haven’t even been there for myself. You are so supportive and loving.”
Ashley quickly starts crying at all the sweet things Jared is saying to her.
Jared continues, “I don’t ever want another day to go by that I don’t kiss you and tell you how beautiful you are and how much you mean to me. You’re everything to me. You make me the happiest man alive, so if I have the opportunity to spend the rest of my life with you, Ashley, will you marry me?”
Ashley says yes and the two embrace as Jared puts her ring on her finger and says, “It fits! Like Cinderella’s slipper.”
Since their epic proposal in “Paradise,” Ashley and Jared tied the knot in August 2019.
And in January 2022, they welcomed their son Dawson into their lives and couldn’t be happier together.
