Joey Graziadei Opens Up the Potential Bachelor Twist, What He’s Looking For in a Partner, and More!
Getting candid.
Last week, it was announced that Joey Graziadei would be looking for love on Season 28 of “The Bachelor.”
The leading man just stopped by the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast for an exclusive interview about his upcoming journey.
Co-hosts Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt asked Joey what he’s looking for in a future partner, and Joey was honest with his answer.
He said, “I am looking for my person. I know for me, especially as I’ve gotten older, there isn’t a type. It’s more about a personality and a type of person. I just need someone that’s willing to be open to taking on life with me. I want someone adventurous. I want someone that’s going to love every day and try to make the most of it. I don’t know what that looks like. I’m one of those people that believes I’ll know when I see it. I’m just really excited for the idea that I might actually find that person.”
Joe and Serena also asked Joey about his time on Charity’s season and if believes we were seeing the “real him” despite what his Uncle Joe mentioned.
Joey got candid, saying, “Uncle Joe is my mentor and someone I am extremely close with, but he is always going to be one of my biggest critics, like I am to myself. At that moment, he said to me if he could’ve seen the season and seen every episode, he would have never said anything like that.”
Joey went on, adding, “He was holding on to what he saw on the tennis court. He’s a stern guy that sticks to his opinion and he was just like, ‘Are you sure you’re being yourself?’ I was feeling awkward and he felt that correctly, but he was just being a little tough. He is happy with it all now.”
And if you watched Joey’s Bachelor announcement on “After the Final Rose,” you saw Jesse hand one of the women vying for his heart, Leah, a special secret envelope.
Joey revealed his feelings about the potential twist, saying, “I don’t know what was in the card. That threw me for a loop. I like that they are trying to change things up, I really do, but I was like, ‘What are we doing with the card? What does it mean?’ She was funny, though. She was like, ‘These girls are going to hate me when I walk into the house.’”
The Bachelor continued on, saying, “She is aware already that whatever is in the card is a little bit of a game-changer. I was like, ‘You’ll be fine. You know all the girls probably watched the episode, so they know it’s going to be there.’ It’s a new wrinkle that’s never been on the show before, so that’s why it’s exciting. I hope it’s not anything too crazy, but I don’t know what it is.”
As filming for his season approaches, Serena asked Joey if he has any fears going into the experience.
He shared that he is worried about falling in love with multiple people but trusts his ability to be honest and that he will figure out how to navigate it in the moment.
Other than that fear, Joey said, “I think it’s natural to have the fear of losing yourself in some way. This is crazy and something that no one ever preps you for. I just want to stay present. That is going to be my mantra and goal through this. My fear would be the lack of staying present and thinking too much ahead and getting lost in all of it and forgetting why you actually are here. I’m not worried about it, but that’s where my head is at.”
