Serena Pitt Shares the Missing Page of Her Marriage Vows to Joe Amabile that She Forgot at Their Wedding
So sweet.
Over the weekend, Bachelor Nation fan-favorite couple Serena Pitt and Joe Amabile celebrated their wedding with around 130 of their closest family and friends in Charleston, South Carolina.
Now, the couple is debriefing their wedding on their “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast, where they opened up about writing their own vows.
Joe started off by saying, “There is a lot of pressure there when doing our vows during the ceremony because we were nervous. I made a joke and it landed, thankfully. I wanted to cut you off. I wanted to go first. You wanted to go first, but you seemed so nervous that I hoped you would let me go first, but I wasn’t going to force it.”
Serena agreed that she was extremely nervous throughout the entire ceremony, especially during her vows.
The bride said, “Walking down the aisle and doing our vows, the actual ceremony of the wedding, I have never been so nervous in my entire life. I literally was like, ‘I am going to have a heart attack and drop dead on the floor.’ I was freaking out and I felt nervous the whole ceremony. Honestly, I felt a lot better when I got up to the end of the aisle because I was standing there with you, Wells, your brother, and my sister.”
Serena continued, adding, “You looked out and it’s all your friends and family, so you feel very comforted, but I was like, ‘I need to get these vows done first’ because I was so nervous. I was so nervous, guys, that I accidentally started my vows on page two. I only read page two on. I looked at my sister at the end and said, ‘I missed a whole page.’”
So Joe asked her if she would read the first page of her vows now on the podcast to make up for missing it during their ceremony.
And Serena said, “I’m going to read page one of my vows right now, give you a little teaser of what everyone missed at our ceremony. Joe, one of the last times we stood facing each other like this was the day we got engaged. I remember feeling so overwhelmed by emotions that day. Most of them were good, but I still had the small fear of the unknown ahead that I know you felt as well.”
She went on, saying, “Standing here today over two years later, I don’t feel that fear anymore. Looking at you right now, all I feel is peace and happiness and love in my heart. I feel like the luckiest girl in the whole world looking at you, my husband, knowing that I get to spend the rest of my life with you.”
We’re not crying, you’re crying! So sweet!
Serena shared, “I was so proud of that first page and the whole time I’m reading the vows I’m like, ‘Something’s wrong. I’m missing something.’ I just kept going because I was so emotional and I knew if I stopped myself I would’ve really thrown myself off. I was right, though — I missed the first page!”
We’re so glad we got to hear that first page now, and if you want more behind-the-scenes details about Joe and Serena’s wedding, check out the full episode of “Bachelor Happy Hour” below.
