Bachelor Nation fans got to know and love Raven Gates Gottschalk on Season 21 of “The Bachelor” and on Season 4 of “Bachelor in Paradise,” where she met her husband, Adam Gottschalk.

The two welcomed their son Gates in January 2022, and they just welcomed their second baby boy, Max, in July.

Now, Raven is answering fan questions about parenting and whether she and Adam hope to have more children in the future.

During the Q&A on her Instagram Stories, a fan asked Raven if she had any gender disappointment about having two sons and no baby girls (yet).

Raven shared a special story in her answer and started off by saying, “I’ve been meaning to tell you all this story. I didn’t, but I totally understand those that do! Especially all of the things people say to you when you have only boys. One week while I was still pregnant with Max I had seven women in ONE week tell me that I needed to keep going until I had a girl because boys don’t take care of their moms in old age.”

She went on, saying, “Which I thought was a bizarre thing to say.... But after seven women telling me that I started thinking ‘Well, what if my boys don’t love me? I'll just have to be okay with that.’ THEN.....on Adam’s birthday this year (April 19th) I took Gates to the store to pick out a balloon for Adam. As we were in the card aisle I was letting Gates look at all the cards and I held him up to pick out the balloon for dad he wanted. And a man behind me starts talking to me asking me whose birthday etc.”

Raven shared that the man started talking to her and had a story to share with her.

She said, “I thought we were bothering him because I was letting Gates take his time. So I tried to get out of his way & I went to the next aisle. And the man followed me and said to me ‘ma’am, are you pregnant again?’ And I said yes! Another boy! And he said, ‘I am 78 years old. My mother died years ago. And I loved her so deeply. Seeing you with your son made me think of my mom. Don't let anyone tell you that boys don’t love their mothers. I miss mine everyday & i was her caretaker. Keep loving your boys like you are now. They will love you back.’”

How sweet!

Raven continued, “When he said that I was in shock. I didn’t even respond the way I wanted to because I couldn’t believe he said that to me after contemplating everyone telling me to keep having a girl. I took this picture to remember what he said to me.”

What an incredible story!

Raven shared that she and Adam do hope to have another baby at some point in the future.

She said, “But with that being said.. to answer this question – I have always seen myself as a mom of three! I wouldn’t be trying for a girl necessarily, but I do see myself with three kids. However it’s also hard to commit to more children when you’re in the newborn stage! It will be a decision that Adam would want too.”
