Becca Kufrin Opens Up About Postpartum Body, Breastfeeding, Her Birth Story, and More!
Getting candid.
Bachelor Nation fans know that Becca Kufrin and Thomas Jacobs found love on Season 7 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
Since then, the two have moved in together in San Diego, have both proposed to each other, and shared the news that they were expecting their first child together.
And the couple revealed that their baby boy Benson finally arrived on September 21!
Now, Becca is answering fan questions about her postpartum life and the former Bachelorette is spilling the tea.
One fan asked how she’s doing overall in her postpartum life and Becca shared a picture cuddling up to her son and wrote, “It’s the hardest, most worthwhile time ever. The hormones are wild tho. I told myself I was prepared to feel every emotion known to human, but until you’re in it, nothing can fully prepare you. I’ve cried more in the last 2 weeks than I have over the last z years but mostly they’re happy tears because I just love Benny so much.”
She continued on, saying, “But mom guilt is real. I feel bad when I can’t hold him or need some time to myself. It’s something I’m working to get better at but gives me a newfound respect for all new parents out there. We’re just getting through it and learning day by day.”
Becca also shared that she’s been breastfeeding Benny but has been struggling with pumping, which she knows will allow Thomas and her mom to help feed their baby.
The Bachelor Nation star also shared more about her birth story, revealing she was induced on Tuesday and didn’t give birth until Thursday.
Becca also revealed that she was pushing for over three hours, saying, “It is the most strenuous thing your body will go through, so be prepared.”
And while they are soaking up every minute of the newborn phase, Becca shared that she and Thomas are very sleep deprived, saying, “I don’t know if we will ever sleep hard again.”
Another fan asked if she is loving seeing Thomas as a dad and Becca got emotional with her answer.
She said, “I thought I loved this man hard before having Benson, but seeing him become a father has been the most beautiful, sweet, and frankly attractive, thing I’ve ever witnessed. He has stepped up in ways I could have never imagined and I couldn’t have gotten through pregnancy, birth and this 4th trimester without him. He fills my heart in new ways every day.”
How sweet!
And when it comes to how embracing her postpartum body has been, Becca didn’t hold back with her answer.
She shared a photo of herself and wrote, “I wasn’t going to share this photo but eff it. I know I’m not alone in feeling disgusting with the postpartum undies/diapers, nursing pads, hormones on a rollercoaster, sleep deprived, sore nips, on a wonky schedule, etc. but this is the real/raw footage. the body goes through a battle during labor and delivery, but the hardest part for me was the pelvic pain post birth.”
Becca continued on, saying, “I tweaked my SI joint at some point pushing this dude out and the lingering pain has been constant and doesn’t allow for me to really walk that much. Luckily I have a great pelvic floor PT (highly recommend finding one while still pregnant) who has been helping with simple stretches during this recovery period. Any movement that helps right now is a small win. I also peed A LOT while pushing so that was fun.”
We love how candid she’s being, and we know it will help other postpartum parents feel seen.
And we can’t get enough of all the baby Benson content. Congrats again on a happy, healthy baby boy!
