Sandra Discusses Missing Her Daughter’s Wedding on ‘The Golden Bachelor’ Before Getting Sent Home

Bachelor Nation fans saw Sandra look for love with Gerry on Season 1 of “The Golden Bachelor.”
During her time on the show, Sandra opened up to Gerry about missing her daughter’s wedding in order to look for love on the show.
While filming, Gerry and Sandra FaceTimed the newlyweds shortly after their ceremony and got to check in with them.
Now, Sandra opened up to People about her decision and shared that she had her daughter and son-in-law’s full support.
Sandra told the outlet, “My son-in-law said, ‘Mom, our ceremony is eight minutes. Our marriage is a lifetime.’ He said, ‘You go. Go.’ And of course, my daughter said, ‘Mom, I’ve got my guy. You go get yours.’ So they practically shoved me out and said, ‘You got to do this.’”
Sandra also shared that it was “something my daughter and I discussed early on” and so she knew she would truly be okay with it and felt “blessed.”
The Bachelor Nation star shared how much she appreciated Gerry thinking to call her daughter on her wedding day, saying, “He’s always full of these sweet surprises and he’s so thoughtful. This man is something different.”
And while Sandra revealed that she was sad to not receive a Hometowns rose, she looks back at her time on “The Golden Bachelor” as “a great experience.”
She shared that she’s more hopeful now than ever about finding love again.
Sandra said, “I’m more motivated. I know it’s possible. No, it’s not just possible — it’s probable. It’ll happen. And just be open to it. Just embrace it. If you don’t buy a lottery ticket, you can’t win. Same kind of concept.”
