Gerry Turner Opens Up About Emotional ‘Women Tell All’ and Which Women He Needed Closure With
Getting candid.
Bachelor Nation fans are getting to know Gerry Turner as he looks for love on Season 1 of “The Golden Bachelor.”
After this week’s “Women Tell All” episode, the leading man stopped by for a candid conversation with Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt on the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast.
He opened up about seeing the women again for the first time, saying, “I was so excited to see all of them, but it elevated when I saw everyone smiling. They were all happy to be there. I was so excited to see them. There were some of them that I felt like I needed some closure with and I needed another glance or comment where we both felt like it was finished and we were okay with each other. Those things happened.”
Gerry shared that he felt like he specifically needed closure with Ellen, Joan, and Faith.
He first talked about Ellen and Faith with Joe and Serena, saying, “Ellen had such an exuberance and she wore her heart on her sleeve. She was so vulnerable at all times, and when I sent her home, I knew how difficult it was going to be for her and for me. Tonight, to see her smiling again meant so much. She is on the healing process and moving through things and is getting back to normal. That meant a lot. Joan also felt like unfinished business.”
Gerry went on, adding, “She was the person that throughout the course of the whole journey, I would always find her gaze and she would always find mine. We would lock eyes in a peaceful way. When she left, it just felt unfinished. As it turns out, it was the way it was meant to be, but tonight when we locked eyes, we had the feeling of resignation.”
And as for his reunion with Faith, Gerry shared that he was very nervous to see her again.
He opened up, sharing, “I was incredibly nervous to see Faith. I had no idea what my reaction was going to be. I watched some of the episode in the dressing room and it really got me at that point. I was sobbing with sorrow and hope and then when I walked on the stage, I got really nervous. Faith was very important to me, and I’m sure I was very important to her, so the pain of separating and me being the cause of that separation was so excruciatingly painful.”
Gerry continued, saying, “Tonight when we hugged, we had a long, extended hug, she was crying and I was crying, it was cathartic. It just spilled out of us and through that and the conversation where she could talk and I listened, I think it was good for both of us. It was unfinished. What the hell happened? Neither one of us felt like we had closure and now I feel like we do. It’s still painful, but we’ve closed the chapter.”
