Dean & Caelynn Bell Discuss Matching Tattoos, If They Have Any Wedding Regrets, and More!
Getting candid.
This week, fellow newlyweds Dean and Caelynn Bell stopped by for a chat with Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt on the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast.
The two couples talked about their 2023 weddings and Caelynn shared how happy she was with how their wedding came to life.
She said, “I came up with a lot of ideas, but I was talking to someone today who said our wedding looked beautiful and I was like honestly, I had no idea how it was going to look. We kind of went into it blind with how our planners were going to decorate it and they brought my Pinterest board to life, so I was super happy about that.”
Dean wasn’t as involved in planning as Caelynn was and he shared a perk of that from their wedding weekend.
He said, “Even not being as involved in the planning process, for me, seeing it for the first time, it felt like I was a guest at my own wedding. It was awesome. We would do something and then we would go back to an area we just left and it looked completely different. I would be like, ‘Holy cow this is amazing!’ It was so cool because everyone was there for me and Caelynn, but I am also being surprised every time I go to the next space.”
Joe asked Dean if he was glad they had a wedding or if he would’ve been okay having a courthouse wedding.
Dean said, “Yeah 100%, you guys did the courthouse thing. I would’ve loved that. I say that, but the wedding weekend was the best weekend of my life. No questions asked, hands down. So with the hindsight of that, I’m glad that we had the wedding and I’m glad we were able to celebrate with everyone.”
He went on, sharing, “But if you asked me before the wedding, I would’ve said, ‘Let’s just go to the courthouse right now and just sign the paperwork and just be husband and wife.’ There is something so special about everyone being there to celebrate our love.”
The couple discussed having a tattoo artist at their wedding and how it was the same artist who did their initial matching tattoos from years ago.
Dean explained, “On our fifth date or something, we got matching tattoos. I wouldn’t recommend it; that’s so stupid. We lasted, so it’s okay, but don’t do it. We were like, ‘I’ll get a parachuter and you can get an airplane,’ because I like to skydive and she likes to travel, so it worked out. She had zero tattoos at this point, so I go get my little parachute guy, then she was like, ‘I’m not getting a tattoo.’”
Caelynn chimed in, saying, “Also, a week prior, he took me to go skydiving, but I didn’t jump. I went up in the airplane and then I just stood there. I went a year later.”
Eventually she ended up getting the matching tattoo and that’s the artist that they had at their wedding.
What a full-circle moment!
