‘Golden Bachelor’s’ Pamela Discusses Intimacy in Her 47-Year Marriage and How They ‘Spiced It Up’
Spicing it up!
Bachelor Nation fans first met Pamela Burns on Season 1 of “The Golden Bachelor,” and she’s kept fans updated with her life on social media ever since.
Pamela also stopped by the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast, where she opened up to Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt about her 47-year marriage to her late husband.
Pamela shared that her husband passed away in 2017 from prostate cancer and encouraged people to get their prostates checked because her husband didn’t.
During their conversation about her marriage, Pamela opened up about how she and her husband met and how they kept the spark alive over almost 50 years together.
She said, “We were married for almost 47 years. We met when I was 16 and he was 17. We were high school sweethearts. I went to his prom, he went to my prom. We got married in 1970 and had two great kids in 1972 and 1973. I am so lucky. He was an amazing husband and father. About 20 years before he passed away, we decided to add some spice. I hope my kids aren’t watching…”
Pamela went on and shared that she and her husband took it upon themselves to relearn about sexual intimacy 20 years into their marriage.
She said, “The kids were in college and away, so we pretended we were virgins again. We rediscovered and started all over again, and honest to God, it worked. Come on, we were in high school when we met and we knew nothing. I’m telling you, it saved our marriage.”
Pamela added, “The intimacy between two people is more important than anything in the entire world. There is nothing that will keep you guys together more than that intimacy. Even if it’s 10, 15, 20 years later, spice it up again. We really studied. When it came to being virgins again, we watched films, we read books.”
Serena and Joe couldn’t get enough of Pamela’s stories and we can’t either!
