Susan Noles Announced as Officiant for Gerry Turner & Theresa Nist’s Wedding: ‘So Special!’
She said yes!
Bachelor Nation fans met Susan Noles, Gerry Turner, and Theresa Nist on Season 1 of “The Golden Bachelor.”
Gerry and Theresa found love and got engaged and are gearing up for their big Golden Wedding this Thursday.
And ahead of their big day, the soon-to-be newlyweds asked their fellow “Golden Bachelor” star and longtime wedding officiant Susan to preside.
Susan spoke to Glamour about Gerry and Theresa asking her to officiate, and she said it was an immediate yes.
Susan said, “The happy couple came up with the idea because we became so close during the show. Gerry’s my buddy, and now Theresa is my girlfriend, so why not? I never asked them why, to tell you the truth. But I’m really glad they did.”
The wedding officiant also joked with the outlet, playfully revealing that it’s the first wedding she’s officiated where she’s also “kissed a groom prior to the wedding.”
Susan shared that this experience will be different from most weddings she officiates in more ways than that one.
She said, “Normally when I officiate, I ask the couple about the fun things they do together because you may not know them all that well, but this is different. This is just over-the-top fun.”
And on top of it all, the wedding will be broadcast live on ABC for millions to watch, and Susan shared whether she has any nerves.
She said, “I hope I don’t stumble over words during the ceremony, but you freeze sometimes when you’re in front of so many people, so I always have my book with me. But the opportunity to do this is so special. It’s because of the bond between the three of us. And I love doing it for people that I care about.”
