This Week in Bachelor Nation History: Ben Flajnik Climbs the Bay Bridge and Hosts Bikini Ski Date
Taking love to new heights!
As we approach Season 27 of “The Bachelor,” we’re looking back on some of the best moments in Bachelor Nation history.
This week, we’re throwing it back to Season 16 of “The Bachelor” when Ben Flajnik was our leading man.
We’re looking back on episode three of his season when he went on two dates that took his love to the next level — literally!
Ben and his remaining 16 women visited San Francisco, where he lives, and he got to show them around his city.
In the episode, Ben said, “This is my home. I love this place. I need the women to see this city because one of them could be living here.”
For his first date of the week, Ben took Emily on quite the adventure as the two climbed 535 feet to the very top of the Bay Bridge.
While Ben lived in San Francisco and said he’s seen “every nook and cranny” of the city, he took Emily for a view he’d never seen before.
Both Ben and Emily had to conquer their fear of heights, with Emily saying, “I hate heights. I’d rather do anything than climb up a bridge. I feel like I want to cry. I am horrified by this. I don’t want to do it. Get me out of here.”
But Ben chimed in trying to find the positive, saying, “Relationships are all about trust and diving head-first into the unknown. Things like overcoming fears can only make a relationship stronger, especially when you do it together. If Emily and I can climb to the top of the Bay Bridge together, who knows where we could take this?”
The two shared their first kiss on the climb and eventually made it to the top!
And for his next date, Ben took 11 of his women on another San Francisco first… skiing down the city streets in 85-degree weather.
They brought in manmade snow from snowmaking machines and both Ben and his women stripped down to their bathing suits to enjoy skiing in the summer weather.
