Abigail Heringer Reveals Her Thoughts on ‘The Bachelor’s’ Daisy Kent and Shares Advice for Her
Opening up.
Bachelor Nation fans first met Abigail Heringer on Season 25 of “The Bachelor,” and she went on to find love with Noah Erb on Season 7 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
During her time on the Bachelor Nation shows, Abigail opened up about her hearing loss and how she wears a cochlear implant.
And she’s been continuing to educate her followers about being deaf and wearing cochlear implants on social media.
Now, Bachelor Nation is watching fellow cochlear implant wearer Daisy Kent look for love with Joey Graziadei on Season 28 and Abi is opening up about seeing more representation on-screen.
She spoke to People and said, “I was excited to hear that the current season would have more representation for the hearing loss community.”
Abigail went on, saying, “I know everyone has a different experience with hearing loss and cochlear implants, so I’m interested in learning more about Daisy’s story and for the conversations to continue on raising awareness for the deaf community.”
And while they both have cochlear implants, Abigail noted that their journeys have been very different — Abigail was born without hearing and Daisy lost her hearing because of Lyme disease.
Abi shared some words of wisdom for Daisy as she shares her experience with Bachelor Nation, saying, “I know she and I both have cochlear implants but have two very different stories, so I’m excited to learn more about her journey with hearing loss. The advice I would give her is to enjoy the experience and to know that her journey is hers alone.”
She continued, “People will cast opinions, be ignorant with their comments, or project their own experiences onto her and to just remember that everyone’s path is different and to be proud that she’s taken the brave step to put herself out there to share her story, which will help so many people.”
Abigail shared that she was originally nervous to go on “The Bachelor” and feared judgment about her cochlear implant.
She said, “My journey with hearing loss was a private one for the most part growing up, so to open up that part of me to potentially be criticized was scary, but people’s kindness and willingness to learn blew me away and now it’s a part of me I love talking about!”
And we love how Abigail and Daisy continue to support each other. Make sure to tune in to “The Bachelor” on Monday nights on ABC or stream later on Hulu to see Daisy’s journey continue to unfold.
