Gerry Turner Visits Nursing Home for Valentine’s Day: ‘No One Should Be Invisible Regardless of Age’
Feeling the love.
Bachelor Nation fans saw Gerry Turner find love with Theresa Nist and get engaged on Season 1 of “The Golden Bachelor.”
The two later tied the knot during the live “Golden Wedding” special that aired last month.
Now, as Gerry and Theresa have been enjoying their newlywed bliss, the former Golden Bachelor is still making time to give back to his community.
To celebrate Valentine’s Day this week, Gerry went to Miller’s Merry Manor, a nursing home near his hometown in Indiana.
Gerry shared photos from the experience where he handed out roses and spent time with the residents.
Alongside the pics, Gerry wrote, “This week I spent an afternoon at a local Nursing Home. The experience was PRICELESS. It brought smiles to about 35 faces that looked like they hadn’t seen a good day in years. They loved it and it did my soul a lot of good as well. No one should be invisible regardless of age.”
The staff at the nursing home wrote Gerry a thoughtful letter thanking him for spending his time there.
They said, “Thank you so much for coming and spending the afternoon with us. Our residents and staff enjoyed meeting you and learning about your experience on ‘The Golden Bachelor.’ You brought SO much joy and even more smiles to our faces.”
They went on, saying, “Some are still talking about it to this day! Thank you for taking the time, we will certainly remember that day forever!”
Many of Gerry’s fellow Bachelor Nation stars and family members showed his post love.
His daughter Angie commented, “This makes me very proud Dad! You do great things and bring smiles to peoples faces! Nice work!”
And fellow Golden Bachelor star Joan Vassos said, “So sweet to spend your day doing that! You brought some love on this Valentine’s Day!”
We can’t get enough of this sweet moment and love keeping up with Gerry on social media!
