Joey Graziadei Shares the Hardest Breakups and Rose Ceremonies of His Season: ‘It Only Gets Harder’
Getting candid.
Bachelor Nation is watching Joey Graziadei each week on his journey to find love as the Bachelor.
This week, he stopped by the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast where he opened up to co-hosts Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt about the more difficult parts of the process.
Serena and Joe asked Joey if it is harder to break up with people or have people decide to leave like Lexi did.
Joey was honest with his answer, saying, “I think that the biggest thing for me, I struggled so much more with hurting someone and giving that sense of rejection. So for me, I understood where Lexi was coming from and I think we had a very grown-up conversation about it. There was mutual respect, so as much as it hurt and it didn’t feel like the right time for that to end, I could leave and feel okay about it.”
The Bachelor went on, saying, “But with sending someone home and knowing that they still want to be there even though you can’t quite see it, I felt that emotion more. With how I am, I really feel for them and the whole situation in general. It’s not that they did anything wrong, but it’s just about me being honest and the most honest thing I can do is send them home in that case. That is really hard though, that will never feel good and it will hold on me the most throughout the whole process.”
The co-hosts asked Joey if there was a particular Rose Ceremony or breakup that was the hardest so far this season.
Joey knew his answer right away, saying, “The breakups and Rose Ceremony in Jasper was hands down the hardest so far. It was great to know that by that people each of those six women had gotten a one-on-one, so we’ve all had the ability to make real connections. It didn’t feel like we didn’t have enough time; it was just at that point I made decisions based on what I thought were the strongest connections.”
He continued, sharing, “It’s not whether or not I had a connection, it was which ones were the strongest. That one was the toughest because no one did anything wrong and you couldn’t use time as an excuse. It just came to the point where I had to make tough decisions. At this point, that was hands down the hardest Rose Ceremony and decisions that I had to make. It only gets harder every time. The next one will be harder and so on all the way till the end. It doesn’t get any easier.”
We can’t wait to watch Joey’s love story continue to unfold, make sure to tune in on Monday for Hometowns.
