Noah Erb Shares How He Supports Deaf Fiancée Abigail Heringer at Home: ‘I’ve Been Doing Research’
Showing the love.
Last August, “Bachelor in Paradise” couple Noah Erb and Abigail Heringer got engaged.
Now, the couple is settling into their life in Tulsa, Oklahoma, renovating their home, and getting excited about their wedding.
This week, Noah took to Instagram, where he started a series about being engaged and living with someone who has hearing loss.
He took to his stories for a Q&A where fans asked questions on how he supports Abigail at home.
One fan asked if they were planning any special accommodations for Abi as they renovate their house.
Noah said, “I’ve been doing research, but send anything my way that would make Abi’s life easier! I want to make special accommodations in our house. I’ve fully embraced Alexa, they know everything about us anyway. We use it for our lights and thermostat.”
He went on, sharing, “I have seen a couple of cool companies that do things like strobes and vibrations and I’m looking into it. We want to find companies that help make living with a disability easier in the house.”
Another fan asked Noah if he gets frustrated when he has to repeat himself if Abigail doesn’t hear something he says.
Noah got candid with his answer, saying, “When family and friends come over, they hear me repeat something five or 10 times and it can be annoying sometimes, but then you just gotta think to yourself, don’t be an asshole. Is me having to repeat myself such an inconvenience that I’ll say never mind or not care if she hears me? No!”
He continued, “It can be annoying but I try to show love through it by just doing it. It’s really not that big of an inconvenience for getting the message across. Once I remember that I would appreciate it if people repeated themselves if I was deaf, I don’t have a problem repeating myself.”
We love these two and love how they support each other in all aspects of their lives!
