EXCLUSIVE: Maria Georgas Reveals If She Has Bachelor Regrets and What Bachelorette Reached Out to Her
Getting candid.
Bachelor Nation fans got to know and love Maria Georgas on Season 28 of “The Bachelor” and while she didn’t find love with Joey Graziadei, she stole the hearts of America.
Now, Maria stopped by for an exclusive chat with BachelorNation.com, at Women Tell All where she reflected back on the season and looked ahead at her future.
Check out our full conversation with Maria below!
Bachelor Nation: Thank you for chatting with us, Maria! What has your experience been like watching back “The Bachelor”?
Maria Georgas: Love you, Bachelor Nation! Watching it back there are so many things that have been a surprise to me. I’m watching it back with the audience for the first time. It has been a little bit of a shock. The biggest was realizing that some of the girls that I thought I was ok with, weren’t as ok with me and that was a bummer. There have been some surprises.
BN: Now that you’ve had a chance to watch it all back, do you think you would’ve done anything differently?
MG: Of course I would’ve done some things differently. Looking back, hindsight is 20/20 and I would have changed a couple of things. For the most part though, I stayed true to who I am and I can’t be mad about that. I am ok with how things played out.
BN: Totally! How do you feel about all the love from fans that you’ve been receiving online?
MG: I keep saying I am in awe of all the love, I really truly am. I didn’t expect the overwhelming response of positivity and support. I am appreciative of that. I just am thankful that people are seeing me for who I am and that they are on board. It’s crazy! I don’t fit the mold at all, but it’s nice to know that people see me and still want me. People are really hoping that I find love, so whether that’s Bachelorette or me out in the dating world, I love that people are supportive of me. Just so everyone knows, I want someone who is going to see all of me and love it for all that I am and not question why I am the way that I am.
BN: Love that! Speaking of what you’re looking for, do you think this experience has changed the way you’ll date in the future?
MG: One thing I can take from this experience is to be more open to letting things happen. I want to be more in the moment and let the good things roll out as they will. I think in the future, I will be more open to expressing myself and be more accepting that I am a lot more emotional than I try to play off that I am. I want to always trust my instincts, I noticed watching it back that I might have held back in some ways. I think that was me trying to trust my gut and I know I have a good intuition, so I want to try to lean into that more.
BN: That makes sense! We know you’ve received love from fans, what about anyone from Bachelor Nation?
MG: I have been receiving so many messages from so many Bachelor Nation alumni. One person in particular who has reached out is Charity Lawson. She has shared her support for me since early on, I love her so much. I think Charity has held herself in such a respectful way and she’s someone I look up to. Theresa Nist from ‘Golden Bachelor’ also reached out to me and she is so sweet. I’ve seen her as a strong individual, so for her to have reached out to me and say that I’m so strong and that she wishes she was able to stand her ground in the ways I have meant so much to me.
BN: That is so special! Now what about Joey, were you able to get closure with him tonight?
MG: Oh yes. I think just being able to watch the show back with everyone else and seeing his connection with the other women, I was able to understand where my ending was coming from. It was my time. Our relationship ran its course. I respect his decision and some things could be great and people saw our connection, but not everyone is going to be everyone’s person and I’m ok with the fact that he’s not mine.
BN: Lastly, what are some of your favorite memories from the entire experience?
MG: The best part of this whole experience has been meeting these girls. Some of these women I’m so close with to this day. I have grown to love them and they are friendships I’ll have for the rest of my life. I think what’s hard is that I don’t ever like being in competition, especially with other women. That was the hardest part for me, I don’t like that kind of feeling, but I’m grateful for the process and know what I signed up for, but that was hard. I’m so glad we are all able to stay so close after it all.
BN: Love that, thank you so much, Maria! We’ll chat again soon.
