Amanda Stanton Gets Candid About ‘Slow’ Postpartum Weight Loss and Gaining 44 Lbs While Pregnant
Keeping it real.
Bachelor Nation star Amanda Stanton and her husband Michael Fogel got married last year in Santa Ynez, California.
As Bachelor Nation fans know, Amanda already has two daughters, Kinsley and Charlie, from a previous marriage.
In January, Michael and Amanda welcomed her third daughter and their first child together!
Now that Rosie is two months old, Amanda is opening up about postpartum weight loss not going the way she expected and how social media is impacting her.
During a recent Q&A on Instagram, one fan asked Amanda how her postpartum experience has been.
She got candid, saying, “Ok I am currently going through some unexpected challenges with my postpartum weight loss which I'll shareee simply because I want to discuss. I really don't want compliments or anyone saying ‘be easy on yourself, it took 9 months for you to make a baby’ etc etc haha because I KNOW! And I really am being easy on myself (most of the time...I have moments where I get frustrated) But with that being said....I gained 44 when I was pregnant and I lost 22 during birth and the week after.”
Amanda went on, saying, “Since then...I have not lost ANY weight. Like not a single pound. I generally eat very healthy, I'm active, and I drink a lot of water! I just can not lose even one pound for the life of me. I genuinely think I may have even gained a pound. I'm going to give myself a couple more months and then maybe look into getting my hormones and thyroid checked! Because as frustrating as it is, I also just want to know WTF is going on.”
Amanda shared that her body could be holding onto weight while she’s breastfeeding, but she just wanted to share her experience in case anyone else is experiencing something similar.
She also opened up about how social media has impacted her postpartum experience this time around.
The mom of three said, “I also didn’t have social media when I was pregnant/postpartum with the older girls, so I never felt this way. I really have never been someone who compares myself to other people, but I can’t help but feel like I’m losing weight much slower than everyone else who was pregnant around the same time as me. I didn’t expect or need to bounce back whatsoever, I knew not to put that kind of pressure on myself.”
Amanda continued, saying, “I’m ok with moving slowly, but not losing a single pound in over seven weeks has left me feeling a little defeated and self conscious at times. I mostly just want to know what’s going on and why. Again I’m really not that upset over this, I don’t want to come off like I’m stressed about it all the time, because that’s not true. I know I’m blessed to have had a healthy pregnancy/baby and I’m giving myself grace during this time. Just wanted to share my personal experience.”
We know Amanda’s candidness will help others going through something similar.
And we love getting to see her adorable family!
