Joey Graziadei Discusses His Dad Nick’s Sexuality and Wingmans Him: ‘Slide In My DMs for My Dad’
Opening up.
During a conversation with Nick Viall on “The Viall Files” podcast, newly engaged Joey Graziadei discussed his family with the fellow former Bachelor.
Nick asked Joey about his dad Nick Graziadei and his experience coming out as gay after getting divorced from Joey’s mom Cathy when they were kids.
Joey started off by saying, “I love talking about this because my dad is such a special person. I love putting light on this.”
He shared a little about how he learned more about his dad’s sexuality, saying, “My parents got divorced when I was in first grade, around that time. My little sister was a year or two younger than me. She knew right away that my dad had a boyfriend and everything. I thought it was his roommate. It took me a while to figure it out until, actually, I was in, I want to say, middle school.”
Nick asked Joey how his dad living his authentic life impacted Joey while growing up and now.
Joey said, “It’s just an understanding that he lived his true self. I appreciate so much that my dad did that. I just think he’s a really special person. I am so happy that I learned about that and started to understand what love is like and have him show that side of himself. He’s able to live in his true light now. It definitely made me a more understanding person, I would say. I love that man.”
Joey said his parents still have “so much love for each other” and they are still in each other’s lives.
Joey and his dad are also still very close and he told his fans that his dad is currently single so, “If anyone’s out there, slide in my DMs for my dad. I got you.”
