Gabby Windey Reveals Why She Probably Doesn’t Want Kids with Girlfriend Robby: ‘Maybe in My Next Lifetime’
Getting candid.
Bachelor Nation fans got to know and love Gabby Windey on Season 26 of “The Bachelor” and Season 19 of “The Bachelorette.”
Since her time on the shows, she found love with her girlfriend Robby Hoffman and publicly came out last summer.
Now, Gabby stopped by Shannon Beveridge’s “Exes and O’s” podcast and opened up about her relationship with Robby.
Shannon asked Gabby if she and Robby want to have kids one day, and Gabby got candid with her answer.
She said, “I don’t really want kids. Just like being a lesbian, I always allow my mind to change. Not that I don’t believe what I’m saying, but I’m never so firm in my views that I can’t allow my mind to change. I understand that things might change later. I’ve never seen Robby with kids, but I hear she’s really good with kids and she’s so good with animals. She’s just so funny.”
Gabby went on, adding, “So once my ovaries start to shrivel up, then I’ll be on a countdown of we have to have a baby right now. I think both of us are on the same page where we had such crazy, traumatic childhoods that we now want to be kids and are just now feeling stable in our lives. And I don’t know if I want to relive childhood through a kid. Maybe in my next lifetime.”
During their conversation, Gabby also opened up about coming out later in life and how supportive her Bachelor Nation fans have been on social media.
The former Bachelorette said, “My age is such a blessing because I didn’t go on TV until I was 31 and I was an ICU nurse for eight years before. I just lived so much of a real life. I feel like I just had perspective and I’ve always been good about marching to the beat of my own drum. When I came out, I wasn’t really scared. Naturally, we have some shame we have to deal with especially coming from the Midwest and having conservative parents. But it was never anything more than that.”
Gabby continued, “I was never afraid. I actually think it was easier for me. I am really lucky that the people who follow me and who have come to love me after the TV shows I have been on because they have been nothing but really supportive and happy for me. I felt like that was going to be the case and everybody’s gay. It’s 2024! And apparently all the bi girls were onto me when I was on TV. They were like, ‘When is she going to come out?’”
And while Gabby has only dated men before dating her girlfriend Robby, she shared that it doesn’t feel much different almost a year into dating.
She said, “I feel like it’s not that different dating a woman in comparison to dating men honestly. You just get so used to your relationship and it’s just the person you’re in a relationship with. But I do feel like this is the first time that I am facing the guards I have up in a relationship that you don’t really know until you fall in love with somebody.”
We love how honest and open Gabby continues to be; we know it will help others going through something similar.
