Lauren Bushnell Lane Shares Why She Got Her IUD Removed and If She’s Ready for Baby #3
Getting candid.
Bachelor Nation fans know Lauren from Season 20 of “The Bachelor,” and since her time on Bachelor Nation shows, she found love with country singer Chris Lane.
The two got married in October 2019 and have welcomed two baby boys into their lives.
Now, the mom of two just took to Instagram to share why she got her IUD removed after experiencing unexplained pain for the last 18 months.
She said, “Personal medical news that I don’t know why I’m sharing on here… I feel like it can maybe help someone. I used to have an IUD, as of a week ago. For the last 18 months I have been going to all different forms of therapy including physical therapy, I’ve been seeing a chiropractor, massage, and so many different things. I have had so much pain in [my] lower back.”
Lauren went on, saying, “Your IUD is down here, but my pain was around my tailbone and it radiated down my legs. It would wrap around the front sometimes. It was pelvic pain in general. My whole pelvis just ached for 16 months. It was horrible. I just assumed it was something from postpartum or having a c-section because this was my first c-section or having pregnancies super close together. That all logically makes sense, but it got to the point where nothing was helping and I was in tears on some days because I was in so much pelvic pain.”
So the Bachelor Nation star shared that eventually she decided to get her IUD removed as a last resort because she didn’t know what else to do.
Lauren shared, “It didn’t make sense to me how it would cause my whole pelvis to ache and my lower back to ache. And it’s crazy, but I have not had pain at all since getting my IUD out. I’m still in shock about it. It’s shocking to go from having chronic pain that you figured you’d have to live with for the rest of your life to all of the sudden not having it anymore.”
Lauren shared that she is not against birth control and supports whatever people choose to do, but noted that the IUD just had weird side effects for her.
She said, “I know IUD works great for a lot of people, I just happened to be one who had this negative side effect. I’m 100% sure it was my IUD at this point.”
And she also revealed whether she and her husband Chris are possibly ready for a third child now that her IUD has been removed.
She said, “I will be tracking my cycle using Natural Cycles for now and I’ll also be using secondary forms of birth control because we are not ready yet, if ever, we don’t know. We have not decided about a third baby.”
Lauren’s openness about her experience could help someone else going through something similar, and we love following along her journey with her adorable family.
