Danielle Maltby Discussing Staying in Cleveland After Split from Michael Allio: ‘Taking My Life Back’

Bachelor Nation fans saw Michael Allio and Danielle Maltby find love and leave the beach together on Season 8 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
And last year, Danielle moved to Cleveland to be closer to Michael and his son James.
Then in September, fans were shocked to learn that the couple broke up after Michael shared the news on a podcast.
Now, Danielle got candid with Cleveland Magazine about why she decided to stay in the city rather than move back to Nashville after the breakup.
She told the outlet, “I didn’t necessarily choose this place, but I wanted to make it feel like home. It was like, ‘Well, I’m here, so I now need to take my life back.’ I moved up here for someone who I thought wanted to be with me forever. I genuinely believed we’d get engaged and married.”
When the news of their breakup emerged, Danielle shared that her followers online encouraged her to move back to Nashville, but Danielle shared that despite the split, she wanted to make Cleveland her own.
Danielle said, “I was in the trenches for a few months. I was in, like, constant communication with my therapist. Now, though, I’ve done so much healing, and I just want to help empower anyone who’s in a similar situation.”
She credits her co-workers at The Skin Center, a medical spa, with helping her plant her roots in Cleveland and shared that they are the main reason she decided to stay in the city.
The Bachelor Nation star said, “I work with these incredible women who have brought so much joy to my life. They rallied around me and made lists of all of these things to take me to and to do together, just to keep me busy and show me the city.”
Now, Danielle told the outlet that she is exploring as much of Cleveland as she can to make the city feel like home.
She said, “I’m someone who has always gone where life takes me, and I’m always open to an adventure. My superpower is that I can make a beautiful life wherever I am.”
