Mari Pepin & Kenny Braasch Reveal Major Mishaps from Their Wedding and How They Adapted
Keeping it real!
Bachelor Nation fans saw Mari Pepin and Kenny Braasch find love and get engaged on Season 7 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
The two tied the knot last year in Mari’s hometown in Puerto Rico with close family, and last month they celebrated in Chicago with more of their friends.
Now, the couple stopped by the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast and caught up with Serena Pitt and Joe Amabile about their weddings and revealed whether there were any major mishaps.
Mari started off by sharing what went wrong on her end from a glam and outfit perspective.
She said, “I couldn’t find my garter anywhere and I was so sad about it. It was blue and was going to be my something blue. I ended up finding something else last minute, but I was so upset because I had the garter custom made. I couldn’t find it anywhere. It turns out it was in a different car that we weren’t using. I didn’t find it until after the wedding.”
Mari went on, saying, “It also rained the morning of. Thankfully it didn’t rain during the wedding, but the rain and heat combined was enough to make me completely change my hair plan. I knew that there was always a chance. It’s Puerto Rico, it’s the end of hurricane season, so it’s hot and humid. Towards the end, it’s usually really gorgeous or rainy and we got the rainy.”
Kenny chimed in, sharing that he wasn’t as concerned about the rain as he was about some major errors from their DJ.
He said, “The rain wasn’t that bad. It was sprinkles right before we started. The DJ messed up, though. For our first dance, he played the wrong song. I don’t even know what it was and then we’re like, ‘That’s the wrong one.’ Then all of the sudden, he started playing a Lil Jon song instead and I was like, ‘What the heck?!’”
Kenny continued, “That’s cool and that’s funny, but we ended up having Mari do her dance with her dad first and I went over by the DJ booth to make sure he had the right song and then we went back and did the first dance. That was the only thing, really.”
The Bachelor Nation star shared more about the significance of their first dance song and how it was a nod to their time on “Bachelor in Paradise.”
He said, “We actually picked our first dance song from the Paradise Prom. When we walked in, that was the first song that was playing. Kenny said it was one of his favorite songs and that was it, then. We used that song for our first dance both in Puerto Rico and Chicago. I also wore the pink suit at the Chicago party because that was what I wore on that night in ‘Paradise.’ Little Easter eggs.”
How sweet!
