Bachelor Nation fans saw Kylee Russell find love with Aven Jones on Season 9 of “Bachelor in Paradise,” and the two were going strong after filming wrapped.

A few days after the finale aired, Kylee took to social media and revealed that her relationship with Aven “dissolved due to multiple infidelities.”

Now, Kylee stopped by the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast where she opened up about what happened after “Paradise” and where she and Aven stand now.

She spoke with Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt about how things unraveled after “Paradise” finished airing.

Kylee said, “That time period of my life was a whirlwind. I left the show with Aven and it didn’t really look like we were happy. We had our differences when it came to how we left the show. But we decided to leave with each other as boyfriend and girlfriend and it was a six-month time period from filming and to when the show ended. We were as strong as we could be doing long distance. I had not yet moved to San Diego — I was still in Charlotte — but we made it a point to see each other at least once per month. We did a really good job at that.”

She went on, saying, “Unfortunately, I did find out the cheating news and it felt like everything was stripped away from me and I was having to start from scratch. I am not really seasoned when it comes to being in relationships. Aside from Aven, I’d only ever had one other boyfriend and that was six years ago. I had dated around but hadn’t really been serious aside from those two men. I had never been cheated on before and this was the first time. Having that happen was already a gut punch, but then having to deal with it on such a public level, I can’t even put into words how devastating that was.”

Kylee discussed how hard it was to have to answer to people about their relationship after just having shared that they were happy and together.

She also shared how finding out Aven cheated on her made her feel about herself at the time.

The Bachelor Nation star said, “I am in a place where I’ve completely moved past the emotions of finding that out. If I’m being very honest with you, it made me feel insecure about myself there for a little bit. I felt like if he chose to do this to me, then I’m not enough or there was something wrong with me. I know that’s not the case whatsoever, but it was that human emotion that I needed to do something better. I have since grown from that and that was just a character flaw on his end. I have just been putting the pieces back together because we were in such a strong place at the end, so I thought he was my future and my forever.”

Kylee still moved to San Diego with her friends, despite Aven originally being a big part of the plan.

She decided to do it “solely for myself” and prove that she’s independent from her family.

Kylee told Joe and Serena that she’s not in a position to date right now and that she and Aven have been in touch since she moved.

She shared that they wanted to give each other space to grow and heal separately, but shared that the door is “not fully closed” on their relationship.

When it comes to dating, Kylee said, “I don’t think it would be fair for me to put myself out there in that way if the door is somewhat open with anyone, Aven included. I want to be respectful to all parties.”

And she opened up about how Aven has grown and changed over the past few months.

She said, “I don’t want to speak for him, but I think in order for Aven to become a changed man and the man that he deserves to be for someone even if that’s not me, I think this needed to happen. I think unfortunately it happened to me, but he needed a wakeup call. He did have some character flaws and did need to change, and unfortunately it happened on this magnitude with the whole world looking at him, but that has forced him to become a completely different person. It sucks that he did it to me, but for him and his personal growth journey, I think it needed to happen.”
