Nick Viall & Natalie Joy Detail ‘Nightmare’ 12-Hour Honeymoon with Their Daughter: ‘Losing My Mind’
Keeping it real.
Fans saw Nick Viall and Natalie Joy’s Bachelor Nation-filled wedding unfold last weekend in Georgia.
The two had a gorgeous day as they exchanged vows and became officially husband and wife.
After their big day, the couple, along with their daughter and Natalie’s mom, were heading off on their honeymoon to Turks and Caicos.
Nick shared on his “Viall Files” podcast that they were running on very little sleep from back-to-back nights of wedding celebrations, but they got up for their 5:45 a.m. flight and made it to the airport.
They brought Natalie’s mom along with them so she could help out with their daughter and so they could have some quality alone time during their honeymoon.
Before heading out on the trip, the couple shared that they made sure everyone’s passports were up to date, including their 3-month-old daughter’s.
As soon as they arrived in Turks and walked into customs, the family ran into an issue with Natalie’s passport, as a page was torn and she had no idea.
Natalie said, “This moment really challenged us as husband and wife. It was the first thing we had to conquer as husband and wife.”
Natalie said that she started sobbing and the customs agent said they’d be sending her back.
Nick asked if there was anything they could do because they were on their honeymoon.
He said, “I’m telling myself, ‘You’re two days on the f**king job, time to be a husband. Time to step up. You stay calm. Everything’s going to be fine.’”
Nick shared how he really felt inside during that moment, saying, “In this moment it felt like a nightmare. We booked this all nonrefundable. And when it came to our honeymoon, we went for it. We had been working hard and we didn’t do any type of trade and we decided to make an investment in our honeymoon. We spent and said, should we be spending this kind of money? But we had been working hard and we really wanted to connect on our honeymoon, so we went for it.”
He went on, sharing that while there was a lot of chaos, there were also silver linings.
The former Bachelor said, “We were staying at the Wymara in Turks and Caicos, thankfully, despite their nonrefundable policy, the good people at the Wymara hotel graciously refunded our money. Shout out to them, we thank them. It really was so chaotic. I got so many opportunities to call Natalie my wife and that was great. I was like ‘I’m not leaving my wife, I have my wife here.’ I just got so many opportunities to refer to her as my wife and as I’m losing my mind and we’re about to not have a honeymoon.”
Natalie added that they eventually had to go back and never made it to their honeymoon.
She said, “We had just had this high and we got there and we were so excited and we put all this work into River’s passport and my mom’s passport and I didn’t check mine or Nick’s. We assumed everything was okay. It was just the worst and they said, ‘We’re booking you on the next flight out that leaves at 2 p.m.,’ and it was noon.”
What a whirlwind! We are glad the Vialls made it home safely and were able to get a refund on their hotel.
We’re wishing them all the best in their future as husband and wife. You can hear more about their beautiful wedding in the full episode above.
