Raven Gates Gets Emotional About Figuring Out ‘New Body’ Postpartum and Celebrates New Moms for Mother’s Day
Moms are superheroes!
Bachelor Nation fans got to know and love Raven Gates Gottschalk on Season 21 of “The Bachelor” and on Season 4 of “Bachelor in Paradise,” where she met her husband, Adam Gottschalk.
The two welcomed their son Gates in January 2022 and their second baby boy, Max, in July 2023.
Now, the mom of two is getting emotional talking about new moms on social media as we head into Mother’s Day.
She took to her Instagram Stories to share a story about a recent experience seeing a new mom that got her teary-eyed.
Raven said, “Ever since becoming a mom, I just have such love for new moms. I guess because I’m a newer mom, too, I know how hard and beautiful it is. I was in a store and there was this mom there and her baby was getting loud crying. She was tending to the baby doing her best, but she was also trying try on clothes. I was thinking about how she just had a baby and she’s getting in here buying some athletic/easy to put on outfits and her baby’s crying. She probably feels so overwhelmed because I know how that stage is. It’s very overwhelming.”
“I don’t know why,” she went on, “[but] when I check out, I told the sales associate that when she comes out of the dressing room to tell her she’s doing a good job and it will get better. I had to walk away because I was about to start crying in front of the salesperson and they probably thought I was nuts. Maybe the mom was doing perfectly fine, but in my mind it brought me back because her body probably changed and she’s in the dressing room trying to figure out her new body and also her baby is needing her. She’s figuring it all out and I just hope she didn’t feel embarrassed or feel uncomfortable because she was doing such a good job. I was so teary-eyed.”
Raven shared why the mom should be so proud of herself and what a big deal it was that she was out and about.
The Bachelor Nation star said, “She was getting out with her baby. What an accomplishment to do that. She’s trying on clothes — that’s another huge accomplishment with a new baby. And then also tending to them when they need you in not the most ideal environment. It just did something to my heart! I just have a love and appreciation for moms. Moms of all walks of life, I just love moms. If you haven’t heard lately that you’re doing a great job, you’re doing an amazing job. This Mother’s Day, I hope you are so loved and spoiled. If you’re not and you’re alone, my mind is blown — hats off to you. You are so strong. I just love you guys. My heart explodes for you guys.”
We couldn’t agree more! Moms are the absolute best, and we’re sending love to all the different kinds of moms and caretakers out there this Mother’s Day week.
